United we stand

Together we must never forget what has happened and how we have gotten to the free land;
We have today for those who fought for justice
When no one else could see through the suffering caused by one another
We must always be mindful to love one another.
We don't choose the color of our skin;
many of the generations in the past have paid the price for A flesh they did not choose to wear
but proudly will.
A pigmentation could never surface for the racing hearts and ambitus goals,
Running through the blood of those who stand up for what is right.
Freedom is a drum we all have the option to beat,
From those who have slaved over the graves of broken rhythms
so that we may stand tall in the valleys of self-decisions.
Choices were not always an option for those with bloody palms and bruised bare feet,
walking through the fire another human has caused.
We must never let the ashes of those who fought for life be forgotten.
Because of the stone figures of those who came before us suffered,
we are able to walk a line once covered in war paint from the ancestors of those who's battle cries will forever ring throughout history.
I'm able to thank those who have clawed their way to have a place in society,
For the loving and wonderful people in my life today from inspiring people and aspiring people who will lead revolutionary lives to those who will just lead the revolution that is there life.
A reminder of who we are,
what we have been through, and the ground shakinginsurrection we had,
through Hurricanes of hate and discrimination,
who once tore our world apart, cracked us at the core.
Let the blood of the ones we loved pour out in puddles
until all of those brave enough to look death in the eye stood digging a grave for themselves,
willing to risk their beating heart for the future of today, tomorrow, and yesterday.
We can thank Dr. Martin Luther king, Jr. and many more.
Divided we fall.
These memories must never float away –
A repeat of history will never subdue;
we must not overlook the pain those before have felt,
so they may be broken down to build us up together.
