"Did she hurt you? Are you okay?" Damon asked.
I shake my head. "No. Nothing major. Maybe a scratch or too, but I'm okay." I say. I look back at Niko and smile again knowing since we found her; we can go to the Order and be safe again. We don't have to sacrifice ourselves anymore. Chloe doesn't have to win anymore. It's our fight now...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My heart was racing as I stared at her. Almost admiring her appearance. It's great to know we can be safe now. Maybe not completely safe, people will still be after us, but for now we can be safe. At least for a little while. Nyah can be safe now. The last few years of her life Chloe and her uncle has had her. She was tortured abused and how can she not be forever scared from that? She was scared of anything that came near her.
"You didn't give up on me, Niko." Nyah says sighing with relief. Her brown hair was a little knotty and in her face, but she just ignored it. But her eyes are amazing, they are a beautiful hazel brown. She is a very pretty girl with a great figure.
"Of course not." Niko says quickly not giving a moment to think, "Why would you think I would give up on you? To find you? You're my sister and I love you. Of course I'll come chasing after you." He stepped closer to Nyah and grabbed her hand.
Nyah looked at Niko and pushed her hair behind her ears, "I know, I just" she paused, "I just thought that maybe you thought I was dead by now. And honestly, I am surprised I'm not after three years of this."
"Let's go." Damon says in a rush. I nod my head and keep a close eye on Nyah the whole way to the car. I half smile trying to really believe that we can maybe just once be safe. Nyah smiles the best she can with all her scares that covers her body. She looks like she is in need with medical help.
After a while, we finally get to the Order. Standing outside, we see Tara, Nyah's mother, she is covering her mouth with her hands and I can tell she must be crying. We step out of the car and Tara starts to murmer. "Oh my... Oh my god! Nyah, sweetie. What happened to you're face? Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Nothing perminent." Nyah says with a large smile on her face. Tara wraps Nyah in a large hug and by now both of them are crying.
After a long talk between them both we finally go inside and lock ourselves in the Order. Damon hugs me and kisses my check. There isn't much in this place to admire. Just a ton, a ton of food and beds for us to sleep on. Almost nothing else.
Suddenly, Tara wraps her fingers around my wrist and pulls me gently into the corner. She half smiles, then puts a frown on her face. "What is wrong with Nyah?" she asks. I stand there shocked and confused.
"What do you mean? She was taken and tourchered for three years..." I say confused.
"No. I mean, she..." Tara starts to say, "She is different. She wasn't acting like herself. Is something wrong with her? Nyah acted like a whole new person, I felt like a stranger talking to her. Is she okay?"
I stand there for a second and little shocked. "Well, what she went through is going to be hard to forget. She is going to need time to heal through it. And you need to be willing to help her get through it, as her parent."
"I just want my little girl back. She wasn't supposed to live life like this. She was supposed to grow up, find a guy, get married, have a baby. Her life didn't need to be like this." She says while her eyes start forming.
"I know. I wanted that for her too. But, look, she is now safe and sound in the Order you created. The one you built to keep her safe, and look now, it's comming to use. You had to have known this was going to be used. This Order, you knew that this Order was going to be needed, so why are you so upset now that you're daughter didn't live the life she should have?" I ask almost intruding.
Tara's mouth falls open. "Are you concluding that I knew this was going to happen? I didn't want this to happen, JadeI! My daughter wasn't supposed to be kiddnapped. If I had known this was going to happen, I would have saved her! But, I couldn't. If i remember correctly, I suppose you and Damon were the ones that were supposed to save her three years ago!"
I looked at her with discust. "Really? I never even knew about all this until four months ago? So how was I supposed to save your daughter. And anyways, isn't she safe now?
I looked behing Tara and I saw Damon standing there. I could tell he was listening in. He gave me a look. One that told me that I was right and that Tara is wrong. Damon called me over to him with a motion of his hand, "Excuse me." I say, almost pushing her out of my way, "but I need to go deal with my problems!"
Damon holds onto my hand and frowns. "Why was she talking to you like that?" he asks.
"I don't know. She just turned it around on me. I can't live my whole life in here with her. I just can't." I say staring at the floor, almost wanting to cry, but I held it in for myself.
"Then what do you want to do?" He asks while grabbing onto my shoulders, "Run out of here. Leave Niko and Nyah here to be safe?" Damon sounded actually almost up for all of this.
"I don't know if we can, Damon..."
