Chapter 45: Ape Shit
Luna*
It was a name.
My name.
It should seem so familiar since people refer to me on a daily basis.
But on his tongue..it sounded so foreign, he's only ever called me it when we had our first class together.
Ace and the guards left without giving me a second glance while I stood there..dumbfounded.
"Luna?" Oh my God, Luna!" Noah was standing at the doorway to the room, his red cheeks made him look like he just ran around the whole school which he probably did, I mean come on, it's Noah we're talking about.
"Thank God, you're here," he pulled me into the brotherly hug that I have grown to love, "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
Not physically, I wanted to say but instead I cried into his shoulder.
"Come on little sis," he held me tighter then pulled me to arms length, "The cops and ambulances are here."
I nodded and followed him out.
Luna. Luna. Luna. No matter how hard I tried to block it out, Ace's voice repeated my name over and over. How weird is going crazy over your own name?
I didn't speak the whole time that I found out that the shooter was Dr. Martin (big surprise) but there were only few people who got hurt and the cause was falling down the bleachers or being pushed out of the way.
The ride home in the cop car was silent and after Raven and Noah went to the kitchen, I went up to my room.
My phone kept on buzzing from messages, why can't the damn thing shut the hell up?!
I knew it was a mistake the second I turned it on. Not only were there curious and confused messages but there was also the photo of Ace and me making funny faces at the camera that he set as my lock screen.
Apparently that was enough to trigger my emotions, the tears started again and I launched my phone across the room creating a loud bang and crack.
I leant my back against the wall and slowly slid down it as I sobbed into my hands. The whole one sided argument replayed in my mind, the shouting, the tears and the words that Ace truly intended to use for it to hurt me.
I was your mission.
This was fake.
I was stupid enough to believe you.
I am sorry for everything that's happened the moment that you stepped into my life.
I certainly don't want you to refer to me as your friend.
Petty agent language.
"Luna? Food's almost ready!" Raven called for me.
"I don't feel like eating." I tried to shout back but it came out croaky.
I couldn't hear her clearly but she said something about me not eating isn't normal and that's something is wrong.
I wrapped my arms around my knees and buried my face into it, attempting to hide my wet face as Raven opened my door.
