Ruth's Pov

I walked through a crowded hall. Exhausted. Tired. Everything. I walked into my class. I would usually stay at my locker but I'm far too tired to even speak with anyone. I had my first class with Antonio but he doesn't come back yet. Sadly.

"Good morning class, let's begin with our hardcover books-"

Every sound was shut out. I was still thinking back to yesterday. How Elani thought someone was trying to kill her. It was just an umbrella but she has me worried. I didn't think she could drink so much. When the heck did she start drinking anyway? Ugh all of this is just too much.

I don't even remember any of my classes today. I sat beside my usual crowd of friends. Anees and Jamal sat across each other. Angela and Ayite were having an interesting conversation. The girls were all talking about boys and what not. I looked over to Elani and saw that she was as gone as I was. Her eyes looked dead and she looked like she didn't even bother in trying to look good today.

She didn't sleep. She had bags under her eyes and her hair was on a bum. She wore a light pink lipstick to give life to her lips but that was it. She wore a long creamy sweater with some skinny jeans and flats. Her neck looked a little red. Maybe she had struggled putting something on. I looked closer and saw Some clawed marks. I didn't know she had a cat. Maybe it was her dog..

"Hello beautiful.." I heard that familiar voice say

"Carlos.." I said looking up at him

"Can I sit?" He asked sweetly

"Sure.." I smiled

"How was that party?" He asked

"Oh god.. Too crazy for my liking.." I sighed

"Oh damn.. " he laughed

I love the fact that he simply changes the mood I'm in. I could be in the saddest mood but his smile just changes everything. His big blue eyes that are sometimes covered by his brownish curls.

"You should've gone.. It would've been better if you were there." I said

"Maybe next time.. But we should hang out some time." He smirked a little

"Yeah.. We should.."

"When are you free?" He asked

"How about Friday?"

"Movies?" He asked

"Sure.." I said

"Then it's settle.. I'll see you Friday.." He said as he got up

"So will you ignore me for the rest of the week?" I laughed

"No.. I'll try my hardest to see you every single day.. I can't wait for our date though.."

"Who said this was a date?" I laughed

"Well, will you please go out on a date with me, Ms. Ruiz.." He asked as he took my hand in his

"Oh, I'd love to Mr. Hill." I said as I looked up at him

He kissed my hand lightly. He smiled and began to walk off.

"It seems that you have a date.." Elani smirked

"Shut up!!" I said blushing deeply

"Awww Ruth.." Everyone cooed

Omg I wanna hide. I looked at Carlos and he seemed to be smirking.

Anees's Pov

"I'm home!" I said loudly

No answer. There was no one home. I heard a plate crash. It was probably my little brother. I walked into the kitchen. The plate was broken on the floor. But there was no one there. hmm that's weird. I heard more noise and walked out into the living room. I heard some noise come from the corridor that leads to the bathroom. I began to walk towards it but nothing. The lights were off and no one was home. But then I heard more noise

"Hello?? Is anyone there!!??" I screamed

Nothing.

"Hello??? Who's there !!" I said as I heard footsteps.
