James and Riley: LOVE IN A HEARTBREAK

Chapter 12

RILEYS P.O.V.

I woke up. It was 5 a.m.
My laptop was sitting on my lap and my lights were on. I was only sleeping for 5 hours because after I skyped my Mom, it was 12 a.m.
I unlocked my phone to entertain me until I would fall back asleep. There were texts. From James.

J: why'd you leave.

J: where r u

J: cam could've drove u

Was he drunk when he kissed Beth? What if he wasn't? He just ditched me and kissed her? Why did he kiss her? The kiss kept replaying in my mind, along with a million questions. I didn't answer the texts. How could I? I just started to trust him again! And then he does this!

I eventually must've fallen asleep.

I woke up at 10 a.m. with my phone laying beside me. The sun shone in my window, waking me up. I got up, took a shower, and got dressed for the day.
I just sat on the couch wondering what I was gonna do. It hit me.

THE DUET. Did James even know about it? I had never told him! All the drama and love and stuff. He never knew. He didn't know about the duet.
I was so mad at myself. Why didn't I mention it to him? I was so upset. We were gonna have to do rehearsals on Tuesday for it. My god. Uhg.

JAMES P.O.V.

I woke up at 10:45 with a terrible headache. I was finally not drunk. Riley read my texts but didn't answer them. Was something wrong? I had no clue if she was at home or if she got abducted by horses. Where was she? I had no clue. It bothered me that I didn't know where she was.

I decided to go over to her house, just to make sure everything was fine.
I showered and changed and then I was off to her house.

RILEYS P.O.V.

I just finished eating a sandwich when the doorbell rang. Not thinking, i just thought it was Emily who forgot her key. I opened the door ready to give her a hug. It wasn't Emily.

"RILEY. THANK GOD YOUR HERE. I THOUGHT YOU GOT TAKEN AWAY BY SOME DRUNK IN THE CLUB!" He said laughing, leaning in for a hug.
I pulled away.
"No James. I'm here." I said after a while.
"Is something wrong?" James asked trying to grab my hand.
I pulled my hand away and shoved it in my pockets.
"Are you kidding? You just ask a question like that? For real?" I said angrily. My eyes started getting teary. James looked so confused. He stepped back a bit.
"Riley. What's wrong?" He asked politely.
"YOU JAMES. It's just you. How couldn't you know. You freaking kissed Beth. Yeah, the beast. BETH. James, I started trusting you again!" I said bawling, wiping tears.
"I thought we were over that. I thought we were dating again." He said.
"No! Last night James!"
"What are you talking about!?" He asked confused.

There was silence.
