Chapter 3
I run as fast as my legs could take me, although my dress kept being caught under my shoes. The man with the sharp teeth is still following me, I can hear his swift steps behind me.
I take off the pathway, and into the forest. The dead leaves that are under me, crunch and echo. A second pair of crunch's indicate that I'm still being following. I eye the lake, that was in my side vision. I look quickly back to see the figure wasn't one, but three. The three men caught up to me fast, and I set off towards the lake.
As I kept running towards it, I ran through a clearing and I kept on running towards the lake. It was a big lake, deep and remote. I wonder if it was the three men's idea to chase me her. But why me? I am just another lady in London, it's my birthday after all! This is probably the worst present I could ever have.
My feet hit the water with a loud splash, but I just pressed on. I look back to see the other two men spread out, while the first man that I saw, who flashed his sharp teeth at me, run into the water as well.
The water was up to my thighs, and I let out a moan as I lost track of the ground and I fell into the water. The water was cold, and my head sunk under, little bubbled of air rising as I saw the man jump under as well. I turn to face him and I kick out, screaming under the water.
The man latched onto me, and dragged me deeper into the lake. His eyes were glassy, holding no emotion as he forced me onto the lake bed. I looked at his sharp, fang like teeth. He lifted his hand and small claws protruded out of his finger, slashing me in the chest. The pain was intense, and more air bobbles floated up, the blood swirling up as it mixed in with the bloody water. My eyes were blotchy, and I felt dizzy from the blood loss.
The man then put his hands on my neck and squeezed, and I put my hands on his as I tried to pry him off but he was like solid stone. Instead with the last amount of energy I had, I punched him with all my might only to see it fail. The man didn't even move, and his grip got tighter around my throat.
I scream one last time, before suddenly the pain ceased. My chest still bleeding, felt numb and tingly. My lungs were holding on to the last once of breath I had, my vision closing. I was about to close my eyes, knowing that my death would come sooner or later. It's not the worst way to die is it? Dying in a lake, while a man was strangling you under water, not even worrying that his own life was in danger. He didn't even look like no air bothered him, and hardly any bubbles rose from him unlike the thousands of small ones I made.
Suddenly, the man stroked my cheek, and then gave me the most diabolical and evil smile ever, before the darkness surrounded me, and I fell into an eternal sleep...
