Chapter 5

I sat in the brown desk, waiting quietly. Serena had told me to sit and wait, and it surely has been over an hour.

White was really boring, but the desk provided a distraction. The desk was in the middle of the room, so I didn't exactly know why. When I opened up the draws, I found nothing. Just brown wood. It wasn't as if I had expected anything more, but I was curious.

Finally, Serena came in. Her blueish grey eyes stared at me with a plain expression, void of any emotion. Her blonde hair moved smoothly, not a ruffle at all. I felt a tiny pang of jealousy, which wasn't like me at all. Serena calmly stood beside me, her white dress shiny with white sequins glittered around her dress. She was in herself, a real goddess.

"The superiors will be here soon, you'll just have to wait." She announced to me, and I nodded without saying anything. I was still shocked about this dream state I am in.

"Thanks, I appreciate it. Hey Serena, how'd you get chosen?" I asked her, and she looked at me. Her eyes were suddenly glazed, her plain face twisted into a look of disturbing horror and torture. When she looked at me, her face was paler than even possible, if it was possible. Her skin was much more paler than mine, since I am a light natural olive.

Serena swallowed, breathing heavily. I have a feeling that her death, was much badder than mine.

"I was chosen in the fourteenth century. Where castles and swords were made. Guns weren't even born, carriages were though. They were steered by donkeys, and one must use the reins to guide them, not with the hitting things they use on the horses. I'm sorry, but I don't know what they're called.

"It was my Birthday, we lived on a small farm. My mother and father were poor, unlike the King. But even though they didn't have enough money to even feed themselves, they spent most of their money on me, just to make sure I had the best life. My mother was a beauty with blue eyes, and blonde hair. My father, with grey eyes and dark brown hair. It's the reason why my eyes are the colour they are.

"One day, my father told me to get wood in the forest near our farm. I always did it though, but it was birthday. Before he sent me outside, I heard them saying that my father will send me out to do chores, and while I was doing them, he'd get the birthday cake, and p-presents..." She stutters, tears welling up in her eyes.

I stood up, and went over to hug her. I embraced her tightly, her tall and feminine figure, much easier to fit in with mine. I was flat chested, and I was anorexic. I wasn't that anorexic though, but that was two years ago. Now I am stronger, but I am still skinny.

Serena rested her head on my shoulder, and I hugged her. We stayed that for a little while, her soft sobs hurting me. "Do you want to continue the story? You don't have too, if it's to much-" I start to her, whispering quietly in her ear.

She pulled back quicker than I saw anyone do, and she looked at me with red ringed eyes. Her eyes were red and puffy, and it broke my heart. "No! I have to finish the story, besides it's only the starting." She relied quickly, a little too enthusiastically.

Serena breathed in again, and I sat back down and waited for her to continue.

"While I was in the forest picking up firewood for the fire, I pretended I didn't know the surprise coming. It hurt me in some way, knowing that their spending their life savings on me. They should use it on food, not for my sixteenth birthday. But in a way I was also was excited, seeing as though I never get this.

"So while I was picking up sticks, I wasn't aware that I had stayed all day, and that I was lost. It was getting late, the orange and red sky indicating that the sun was setting. My dad always told me that dark and scary things lived in the woods, stories told to me when I was a little girl. Still now I believe them, because they are all true. Those dark and scary things weren't people, they were Supernatural's. The superiors also decided to chose me, to help them create more.

"When I tried to find my way back, I heard a loud snap somewhere in the forest and I turned around. I didn't know what made the noise, but after a while I think any more of it. But I did decide that it was probably head home. But since I didn't know my way home, I just walked in the direction I came from. As I walked, sticks in hand another snap sounded right of my ear, and that's when I broke into a run. Then there was the sound of feet behind me, and then fire. It blocked me, and screamed as I fell.

"I run back but the fire had formed in a circle. It was most, and I started coughing. Then all of a sudden a man walked through the fire like it was nothing, and smiled at me. I was freaked out of my mind. I screamed and he laughed, and shifted into a red bird. It was glowing in fire, and I know it now as a Phoenix. I fell back as it flew upwards, and screeched. The fire moved inwards, until my body was engulfed in flames. I died, burnt to the stake my a Supernatural. But, at least you died in water. You didn't have the torture of slowly burning to death."

By the time she finished, I was crying. Layers of tears, fell down my cheeks. She died by fire, while mine was because of harmless water. That was purely horrible.

"I'm so sorry..." I said, whispering quietly.

"It's quite alright, Diana. The past is only a memory, now I'd like to focus on the present." She said, dismissing me.

"If you don't don't mind in me asking Serena, but did you send those Vampire's to kill me in a lake?" I ask, and I see that she hesitate's.

She nods, her platinum blonde hair falling over her shoulders. I could tell she had something to hide, but I wasn't sure what. A part of me knew, the other hoped it wasn't true.

"Yes I did. You see Anira, every time the superiors chose a new supernatural Goddess or God, one of us has to be the one to kill them in order for the process to begin. Vanir Bancova, the Demon God wanted to do it but luckily I stopped him. Vanir, would have made it worser than what happened to me if if was chosen to do it."

It made sense to me, but I was still angry that she didn't didn't kill me herself. Why send other people to do it, then again, they weren't actually people. But I was also glad that Vanir didn't do it, because I know of Demons. They live on Earth to drain it of life, and only certain beings can rid of them. I don't know of what they're called, but they help kill them off. Vanir though, I didn't knew existed, nether did I know of the Demons!

"Thank you, Serena. But-" I try to finish, but the sound of more footsteps sound behind me and I turn around.

Five men in black are walking towards us, looking like their in buisness. Serena stands up and waits quietly, so I do the same. The five men move to the front of the desk, and wait in a sort of semi-circle.

"Who are they?" I whisper towards Serena.

Serena gulps, and looks towards me fearfully.

"They're the superiors."
