Chapter 4
Light, bright light. It's all I can see. I'm blinded and I do not know where I am. I sat up in my dress, which wasn't wet at all.
My dress though was torn, and I think I even saw a bit of my own blood. My red hair was long, knotted and in a gigantic birds nest. I could tell I looked like a huge mess, but I didn't exactly have a mirror to show me what I actually looked like.
I got up, my feet barefoot. My shoes were lost in the lake, so I couldn't get those back either. The white light was hurting my eyes, and I had to squint to see the figure walking towards me. She had blonde hair and grey eyes, her dress long and white like the room or space I was in.
She approached me with grace, then smiled. Her teeth were elongated, like the men's were. She extended my hand towards me and I took it. "My name is Serena, the Night Goddess. I am the ruler of the Vampire race. I was the first Vampire." She said, and she smiled, her fangs long and intimidating.
I smiled back at her. I have heard of Vampire's. People who died and came back. Immortal souls who had the taste and hunger of Human blood. They were legend, but I never knew they were real.
"I'm-" I started off, but Serena interrupted me. "Diana Jennifer Dawson, I know. We have been waiting for you for a long time."
I looked at her with surprise. Anira-Rose was my full first name. Jennifer was my middle name, Dawson being my last name. I never knew Serena was expecting me.
"How did you know I was coming? I died, in a lake. I died by Vampire's, who drowned me. Is this a dream?" I ask.
Serena nodded, and turned around to start walking. I followed her, knowing that she wants me to follow her. We walked through the white room, with no door's or windows. This dream is weird, I know, but Serena didn't look like a dream. She looked like a beautiful women, who happened to be the Goddess of Vampire's.
She came to the wall and stopped. "This way." She said.
"But there's no door, it's just a wall." I complain, looking at the white wall.
Serena turned her head back towards me and smiled. "All is not what it seems Ms Dawson." She replied, and stepped into the wall and disappeared. I stared back at the wall, hoping that she didn't just step into the wall. Suddenly a hand came through the wall, and opened the palm. I didn't know what was happening, but I took the hand.
It thrusted me through the wall, and I flinched but I didn't face whack the wall. I went straight through it. I open my eyes to see Serena, her beautiful eyes looking at me. We were in a corridor, and when I touched the wall, it was solid. I look back towards her but she was already walking. I followed her in pursuit.
The corridors where white like usual, making my torn and bloody dress stand out. We walked the corridors, Serena moving with grace and I just stumbling over my own feet. My red hair shook like a bag, and everywhere was just to clean for me. There is no doors, no mirrors or dressers. Just a long corridor that stretches on for miles on end. Serena stopped and turned around with a serious expression.
"You are about to meet your superiors, who will grant you your powers and immortality. After that you will be cast out onto Earth again, to create your new species." She said going to step into the wall, but I managed to grasp my hand on her wrist and pull her back. She turns around and looked at me weirdly. "Is there something wrong?" She asked, and I nodded.
"Yes, there is. I thought I died! Why would I be dreaming if I am dead?"
Serena chuckled, low and mysterious. Her grey eyes looked at me intently. "Oh Anira, you don't know? You have been chosen at birth to create a new supernatural species like the rest of us. All of us have to turn eighteen and then we die, like you did. You aren't dead my dear I assure you. Your just in a preserved state, until you get your powers!" She stated.
"Oh." I reply, as she took my hand and guided me into the wall. Like it was before in the room, the door was an illusion. I stepped through the wall and came face to face with actual colours beside white. There was a desk, brown and old. It looked like it has been here a long time. Other than that, just the boring white. Serena guided me to the seat on the desk, and I sat down. I was relieved to be able to sit on furniture.
"The superiors will be here in a second, so you will have to wait. I shall get them, so just sit quietly and don't touch anything." She announced, and scurried off in her unnatural grace. Disappearing through the wall, I watched her go.
