(Jema said)

We got a long weekend because of the holidays. We were preparing to go home to Laguna when the doorbell rang. My sister volunteered to get the door.

"Aga naman ng manliligaw mo," I teased.

"Awww ang ganda naman nito," she answered, carrying a bouquet of sunflowers.

"So sino sa mga boys mo nagbigay niyan?"

She took out the card and frowned. "Ano ba yan! Para sa'yo naman pala."

"Hindi nga?"

She gave me the flowers and the card and went to the room.

"To Jema--

If I'm a sunflower,
then you are the sun...
I will never get tired of looking up

I was really touched that I felt my cheeks warming up.

"Someone's blushing!" Apparently, my sister didn't leave and was observing me the whole time. "At hindi ako yun."

"Maligo ka na nga please!"

"Teka. Iiwasan ko lang ang mahaba mong hair."

"Pero kanino kaya galing?" I asked myself. I was silently wishing it was from a certain someone.

(Deanna said)

"Mission accomplished," I told Luigi when I got into the car.

"Anong sinabi niya?" Luigi asked.

"Hmmm... Wala siyang sinabi kasi kapatid niya nagbukas ng pinto."

"Sayang naman. Eh anong sinabi ng kapatid niya?"

"Wala rin. I left the flowers at the door, rang their doorbell and ran."

"What?! But you wrote your name on the card, right?"

"Hmmm... parang hindi yata."

"Tsk tsk." He was shaking his head this time. "Pano ka rereplyan ni Jema nyan?"

"Bahala na. At least mapapangiti ko siya."

"Hatid na nga kita sa airport. Baka maiwan ka pa ng flight mo. Ay wait. May suot kang cap kanina di ba?"

"Nahulog ko sa sobrang pagmamadali. Eh kinabahan akong mahuli kaya di ko na binalikan."

"Gusto mo bang kunin ko? I have ninja moves!" Luigi was so animated.

"Haha. Hindi na but thank you. Tara?"

(Jema said)

We got out of the apartment and saw a black Nike cap lying on the floor.

"Naiwan siguro yan nung nagdeliver ng bouquet," my sister answered.

"Sige tago ko na muna," I answered. It's a piece of evidence that might be useful in figuring out who gave me the flowers.

In the car, I immediately checked the IG of Deanna. I didn't want to assume but I wanted it to be her.

"Aha!" I shouted out of excitement when I found out she has a similar cap.

"Anong meron?" my brother asked.

"Ah eh... wala naman. Nakuha ko na yung last word sa Wordscape. Ilang araw na akong stuck sa level na 'to." I was running out of ideas.

It's a good thing that he's very focused with driving. "Akala ko naman kung ano na."

"Sorry na, bro." I grinned.

I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. I know there could be thousands of people who own a black Nike cap, but my gut tells me it's Deanna. She already made my day even if it just started.
