English was one of my favourite subjects so far this year; beaten only by Art and Magical Creatures. We had been learning poems and sonnets by Shakespeare, which is why I was enjoying the class so much right now. Mrs Gardner had put us into groups of four and my luck had not only seperated me from Sarah, but also put me in the same group as Vivienne and Chase.

Chase I could handle since he was kept the flirting mainly towards Sam and hadn't been acting too annoying so far. He liked to make comments and jokes, which sometimes seemed rude but were always so hilarious that you couldn't help but laugh. Generally, I liked him as a friend as long as he didn't annoy and distract everyone too much. He seemed to be one of the most popular people amongst the born dragonriders but had the class clown kind of attitude.

It was obvious that over the past few weeks Sam had started to get a crush on him. However, she wasn't the only one; it turned out that half the school had a crush on Chase. He seemed the type of person that was a player so Sam had decided to stay away from him and just be friends for now.

Chase wasn't a bad person to have in your group as long as he let you get the work done. Vivienne however was a more difficult person to work with. She had clearly stated that she didn't like me and enjoyed making fun of me. I don't understand why she dislikes me so much since I had been as nice as possible to her so far.

For whatever reason she had, she still made it clear as we carried out the activity. Vivienne led the group of five throughout the rest of the period and I was too tired to argue with her. I just nodded and did my part until the bell rang.

As I tidied away everything from the project, Vivienne came over, "I heard you had a crush on James." She looked over to the other side of the classroom where his group was quickly finishing off their project.

"No I don't. What even made you think I did?," I replied with annoyance.

"A friend hinted it last week and from the glances you kept giving I figured it out myself."

"Well you're friend and you are mistaken since I haven't been bothered to give him any glances as I don't have a crush on him."

"Good. Just a warning; he's mine. I've known him longer and I know for a fact that he not only has a crush on me but also wouldn't ever date a girl like you."

I didn't let my growing annoyance show as I simply shrugged my shoulder before replying, "If you both like each other so much then why don't you date already and leave me alone? I don't know what you mean by 'a girl like me' but i'm just going to forget it since I don't care."

Lie. I knew I was going to think about it for a while afterwards but she doesn't have to know that. I had already started to realise that Vivienne liked James since she was with him so often. I don't know if James liked her back and I wasn't sure if I wanted him to.

Either way, Vivienne must like him quite a lot because I never thought of her to be the type of girl that did petty things like tell other girls that a guy belonged to her. It was funny that she needed to stoop to that level but I was still surprised with what she had said.

"Well as long as we agree that he's mine then we're fine," just as she was about to leave she added, "Julia really likes Roubin by the way and I don't want to see my friend's heart broken so do yourself a favour and stay away from him."

I started to laugh, "Your friend must be crazy if she likes Roubin. He's so... Roubin."

Vivienne nodded her head in agreement, "I agree with that. She doesn't realise that he doesn't do dating and he isn't the type of guy you would even want to date."

"Well, you don't have to worry about that. I try my best to stay away from him anyways."
