Kat’s POV

As the girls showed me around the house I couldn’t help but notice how much they all loved each other. Like they made the smallest gestures to one another to show that they cared like how Nessie held onto Alice’s hand and how randomly Bella would kiss the temple of Nessie’s head. It was weird seeing vampires acting like that, I mean where I come from all vampires care about is blood, except my dad. Even though I know he can be bad at times but I still know he loves me and that it pains him to see me every day because of my resemblance to my mother. He regrets not being there for her, I guess he feels guilty not being able to save her.

I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn’t even realize we all had stopped.

“This is your new room” Nessie said opening the door with a huge grin on her face.” Its only temporary cause we are gonna go back to Port Orford.” I nodded and as I stepped into the room I couldn’t help but be in awe of the room. It was completely white, everything was white the comforter, the bed, the walls, the drawers, everything.

“Its amazing” I said looking at all of them.

“It’ll be even better when you choose your own stuff for it” Alice said “We aren’t gonna really customize this room but when you come to live with us in Oregon you can choose how you want everthing to be and BTW im pretty sure it’ll be great.” She said giving me a wink and a knowing smile.

“Well settle in sweetheart and we will go get all your stuff from your house tomorrow.”Esme said giving me a gentle hug and forcing Alice out of the room.

“Well, you’re not gonna be able to sleep in jeans so you can borrow some of my clothes.” Nessie said smiling at me and running towards her room with lightening speed. As I waited for her I looked around the room. On the dressing table there was a brush and the cutest jewelry box ever. It reminded me a lot of the one that I had back home. But that one was really old, my father had gotten it for me, he said that it used to be my mother’s. It’s one of the last things I had of hers.

Before I could space out again, Nessie came back with a pair of short shorts and a tank top. “Here, I hope they fit we look like around the same size.” She said with a big smile. “Can you believe it, we are like sisters now. I mean not really but its so nice to finally have another half-breed in the house other than my annoying brother.” She said as I went into the walk in closet to change.

“He’s not that bad.” I said to her as I pulled my clothes off.

“Yes he is, your not his sister if you were you’d hate him with a burning passion.” She said as I walked out of the closet.

“Well I think he is sweet, I mean how often is it that you meet a guy and he wants to introduce you to his family and offer to live with them and also to protect you.”I said while lying down on the bed.

“Well that’s cause he is like totally in love with you.” She said sitting down at the edge of the bed.

“No he is not.” I said, starting to blush, stupid blood.

“He so does love you whether you choose to admit or not, well I’m gonna go, my husband is waiting for me.” She said smiling as she walked out the door.

Before I could say anything she was gone. I leaned back into the bed and felt completely at ease. I finally felt protected and free, something my family could never make me feel. As I fell asleep I only had one thought on my mind ‘I hope Nessie is right about Edward loving me because I kinda think I’m falling for him, I really hope he’s there to catch me.’
