He was surprised that he was having sympathy cravings. His wife often sent him out at odd hours of the night searching for the impossible. He whispered the list for the grocery store over and over in his head.

Shelly needed a new job. She knew that she was an underpaid time operator. Every day she saved the universe from paradox and rips in the space/time continuum. A fast reaction was needed, or anomalies could become permanent.

It's not every day that you fight with a best friend. It was a sad situation that couldn't be resolved over dinner or drinks. Redemption was possible but unlikely. Love makes people do crazy things. The planet would be better off without it.

Oblivion wasn't so bad once you got used to it. Most people wandered around lost trying to reclaim their old life, but this wasn't Earth. Not Earth as they knew it anyways. The void was overly grey and so were its people.

She put on her face for the 1000th time. Mascara, foundation, concealer, lipstick, shadow until she was someone different. She could change her whole appearance in an hour and a half, but the angst inside kept rising. When would she get to be just Jane?
