Terrence started with his cold and mean manner. Asking section heads about their work like he needed any of those progress reports. Esther and Macy are standing on the side, silent. Terrence eyed on them and he sensed trouble.
“Speak, associate.” he said.
“They layout’s not done.” Macy answered nervously.
“Because of my laptop,” Esther added.
“The laptop got jammed, and I’m sorry.” Macy.
“We’re very sorry, Terrence.” Esther.
Terrence wore a cold look on his face. He’s ready to shout, he needed to shout. He knew it. No one in The Wolf’s Pen will follow him unless he became a merciless monster. His bad and cold front was all for work and he hated being one in front of Macy. He never thought Macy could fail any part of the job.
He sighed and made sure it sounded loud. He looked at Macy who looked sorry and scared.
“I need that layout tomorrow morning at 8 sharp! Understood?!” he started, his voice a little bit raised. Esther’s and Macy’s shoulders raised in unison. Everyone stopped breathing.
“8?” Macy asked.
“9 then.”
He knew Macy would negotiate with him so he ended before it started. Everyone was quiet inside the office of TWP. When Terrence met Lisa’s eyes, he felt sorry for her. He can’t understand himself.
He was angry at Macy for another reason, aside from the late Layout. He can’t be mad at Macy, he knew that but there’s really something else stirring inside him.
“Everyone, dismiss. Except you,” he pointed at Esther.
“And you.” and Macy.
Everyone on cue went out of the room.
“I’m serious when I said 9 AM, sharp.” Terrence voice was cold, like he didn’t have a heart at all. Like he isn’t the Terrence Macy ate dinner with. After all, he really wasn’t. The Terrence Macy ate dinner with was now only a part of her memory.
