Chapter 7
Sam's POV
I heard Connor pull up in the driveway, planing to ignore him so I wouldn't have to help bring in the food I put in my headphones.
"Common birthday boy, you still need to help with the food." Jc said as he took out my headphones.
"Fine." I said as I walked down the stairs. It really does bother me that Courtney didn't say anything today. I mean she is one of my closest friends.
As I was walking thru the door I saw something that I didn't think I'd ever see in real life. Courtney. I sprinted to her and picked her up while hugging her. I can't believe she's actually here.
"Courtney how are you here?!" I asked while holding onto her small waist.
"I'm your birthday present from the boys. Happy birthday Sam!" She said while laughing. Her ombré hair was down and longer than I thought. She was wearing a pink crop top with high waisted shorts and navy vans.
"Let's go inside and get Courtney some food, she's been flying for over 5 hours." Connor said while handing me my Starbucks.
"Thanks." I said as I followed the boys and Courtney inside.
Courtney's POV
Once I walked into the house I knew exactly where everything was. But to be as unstalkerish as possible I pretended I've never seen the inside of the o2l house and followed the boys to the kitchen. I sat at the counter with Sam and Trevor as ricky got me a glazed donut.
"Ok so how did they ever convince your parents to let you come and stay with us for a week?" Sam asked while playing with his bracelets.
Seeing Sam in real life was really emotional. Not as emotional as seeing him at o2l tour, since then I learned how to control my feelings, but still very emotional.
"Well apparently Nicole is very persuasive." I said as I looked towards Trevor's mom.
"When did u get here?" Trevor asked.
"Oh just now, Courtney your mom wants you to call her when your settled." Nicole said.
"So my mom said I could come to LA because I was getting straight As and I needed to check out this summer training program that I got accepted into for intense runners." I replied
"She also said that you would have to stay at our house, so I could watch you." Nicole said to me.
"Yeah that too. Oh and Sam I got you something." I said as I reached into my bag.
Sam's POV
Courtney handed me my birthday gift. It was in a blue bag with navy tissue paper.
"You didn't have to get me anything." I said to Courtney.
"Oh just open it, you flop!" Trevor said while walking into the living room with jc and ricky following him.
"On that note I'll be leaving. Trevor and Courtney not too late, make sure one of the boys drives you home!" Nicole said as she walked out the front door.
"I'll drive you guys home." Connor said to Courtney and Trevor while he walked up to his room.
Kian just walked out of the kitchen with no explanation.
"Open it." Courtney said as she slid the gift to me.
While she was sliding the gift to me I got a glimpse of the ring She was wearing. It was the ring I gave her for her birthday.
"You actually wear that?" I asked while I lifted her hand.
"Yeah, not everyone can say that their best friend Sam Pottorff gave them a friendship ring for their birthday." Courtney said while smiling.
She jerked her hand away.
"Now open your gift!"
I laughed and went thru the bag. She got me a sweatshirt that said Hartford a pack of Arizonas and a bracelet.
" I thought it would be cool if I got you something similar to what you got me." She said while playing with her ring.
"Thank you."
"Hey I hate to break up this best friend reunion, but since it's Sam's birthday we should do something." Said kian as he returned to the kitchen.
"Yeah" said ricky, and suddenly all the boys popped out of nowhere.
"Let's go to San Clemente for the day and see family." I replied.
"It's 2:07 right now so we would get there around 3:30. Do u wanna just spend the night there too?" Asked kian as he pulled out his phone.
A collection of "sures" and "why nots" were replied and we decided to spend the night.
Courtney's POV
When we got to San Clemente, honestly the first thing I wanted to do was eat. But I didn't because I just ate earlier, so we went to the beach instead.
All the boys except Trevor ran into the water the first chance they got.
"Why don't you go hang out with the boys?" I asked while I put on my ray bands.
"Eh I don't really feel like getting we right now. Besides I wanna hear about ur life." He said while lying back on his towel.
"Well it's not really interesting... Let's see. I was born a preemie in Hartford with my twin sister Kylie. Kylie didn't make it, but I did." I looked over at Trevor. He gave me a comforting look.
"It's ok I don't really feel phased by it. I never knew her."
"That's true." Trevor replied.
"Yeah so when I was 4 my sister Maeve was born, and we've always been really close. At 5 my mom started to get me into sports but apparently I didn't like anything so she made me run to keep my weight in check."
Trevor laughed at that.
"What! I was heavy at 5 and that wasn't the 'perfect' daughter figure that they wanted so I was forced to work out."
"Once my mom sent me to fat camp." Trevor added.
I laughed
"Anyway I found a love for running and just competed and trained all the time. There wasn't any end. Don't get me wrong I love running, but if feels good to take a break from that life once and awhile."
I looked out at the ocean. Lia came and Jc was kissing her.
"Somewhere in my life story I started watching superkian13 and from there I started watching o2l. So I guess you can say I'm a 'super fan'. And you know the rest." I stated while lying down.
I left out the parts about Maeve. Those are just too personal to share.
