It didn't take very long for Harry and Louis to arrive back to their shared flat, but having to get inside without being seen together bumped up the time a little longer. Louis was the first to enter, Harry trailing behind him. Neither had said a word to each other since the meeting with Modest. Louis closed the door behind them and sighed.

They walked into the living-room and, to their surprise, they saw the other three boys of their band sat on the sofa, all eyes on them. Louis shouldn't have been too shocked, since they all had keys to get into the flat whenever they pleased.

Silence filled the room.

Niall stood to his feet and was first to break the awkward silence, "What did they say?"

"Same old shit," Louis mumbled. He sat down on the armchair and pulled Harry onto his lap, sighing as he buried his face into Harry's neck, fingers stroking the bare skin on Harry's arm softly.

Niall groaned, taking his seat back on the sofa.

"We're sorry, guys," sighed Zayn, who was sat in the middle of Niall and Liam. "We really thought this was it."

Louis looked at them. "Thought what was it?"

"Well," spoke Liam instead, "we thought after Harry dumped Taylor, Modest were going give in and let you guys come out. But ..." he trailed off.

"It'll be long before that happens," Louis told him, shaking his head as he wrapped two protective arms round his boyfriend who was sitting quietly on his lap. Louis sighed, looking back at the boys. "They're finding someone else for Haz."

"Who?" asked Niall.

"Dunno," Louis muttered. "The arseholes don't even know yet."

"I'm going to bed," Harry suddenly announced, standing to his feet, slowly coming out of contact with Louis.

"I'll be up soon," Louis told him.

Harry nodded and walked out.

"See what they're doing to him?" Louis groaned. "He hasn't said a word to me since we left their office! He blames me for this shit, I know he does. I should've told them where to stick their contract by now."

"You're protecting the band and your career," said Zayn. "Harry understands that."

"Then why has he been acting funny towards me?" Louis asked, frustrated and upset.

"We don't know, mate," said Liam. "But you should really go see if Harry's okay. Talk to him, make him understand."

"Yeah." Louis stood up and looked at them. "You gonna be all right letting yourselves out?"

"Yeah," Liam replied. "We were just on our way out now anyway, weren't we, boys?"

Niall and Zayn nodded in agreement.

"Later, boys," mumbled Louis.

He walked out the living-room, leaving them putting their jackets on getting ready to leave. Louis stopped outside his and Harry's bedroom, about to enter until he heard something behind the door.

Sobbing.

He let his head drop to the wooden door, listening to his boyfriend's choked sobs. He wanted to go in but he didn't know what to say. It was rare for Harry to cry, even if he was upset most of the time. Actually, Louis would never know if Harry spent most of his time crying because he was never around to find out. since Modest always sent him to different countries with Eleanor.

After a minute of listening, Louis couldn't take it anymore. He pushed down the door handle and walked in, allowing the door to close behid him. Harry was curled up on their bed, sobbing into the pillow, not even bothering to look round when he knew Louis was behind him.

"Harry," Louis sighed, walking across the room. He crawled on the bed, over to where Harry laying and laid beside him. Louis wrapped his arms round Harry's stomach and brought him closer so his back was against Louis' chest.

"I'm s-sorry," Harry sobbed.

"Don't cry, baby," Louis mumbled, kissing Harry's temple. "We'll get through this, all right?"

Harry turned in Louis' arm and looked into his eyes. Louis could see the pain and sadness that came along with his boyfriend. He'd do anything to take it away to make Harry happy again.

"We don't deserve this," said Harry, sadness in his voice. "I want to be able to have dates in public, Lou, kiss in front of everyone after our concerts instead of backstage, and tell the world who I really belong to."

Louis swiped Harry's curls out of his eyes and leant forward to kiss his lips sweetly. Harry closed his eyes and sighed, knowing he wasn't going to get many of Lou's kisses.

"I'll make sure you get what you deserve, baby," said Louis, kissing his lips again, lingering for a moment. "Everything will be all right."

Louis knew what he had to do to make sure Harry was happy, even if it meant Louis no longer was, not that he was to start with. Harry wasn't into boys before he met Louis, he even admitted that. So maybe if Louis wasn't around anymore, Harry would date a girl, someone who he can be happy with in the public eye, someone he didn't have to hide his love for.

Louis had his plan.

With determination and guts, he was going to go through with it.

But it might just leave a few broken hearts.
