Liam decided to keep Louis' secret from the boys, but he needed to make sure he and Harry were on good terms for the sake of the band, when they were on tours or interviews. So he called Niall and Liam, telling them to meet at Harry's flat, then he called Harry, letting him know they were all on their way round. Harry was about to make up some excuse as to why they couldn't come but Liam hung up the phone before he could.

They all arrived round seven o'clock. Just as they entered the flat, standing in the passage, Harry had come out of his bedroom after changing into a long-sleeved jumper and skinny jeans.

"You really need to stop allowing yourselves entry," Harry grumbled, walking past them in the passage. They all followed him into the living-room.

"You gave us the keys," Liam pointed out.

"Technically, Louis did," Harry corrected, sitting down on the sofa. "What are you doing here anyway?"

"We need to get this shit sorted out," Liam told him.

"There's nothing to sort out," Harry replied quietly.

"You and Louis," elaborated Liam. "We need to make sure you're both good for our next tour."

Harry shrugged, tugging at the bottom of his sleeves on his jumper. "If he stays away from me, we're all good."

"Don't be like that, Harry," Louis sighed.

"Don't fucking talk to me," Harry snapped.

Louis decided to be quiet, knowing Harry wasn't in the right mood to be argued with.

"See," pointed out Zayn, gesturing to Louis then Harry, "this is what we mean. You two will end up having a wrestling match in the middle of the stage. Can't you two just be friends?"

Harry glared at him. "It's not that easy, Zayn."

"It is if you try," spoke the Irishman for the first time.

Harry looked at Niall. Then at Zayn. Then at Liam. Finally, his eyes landed on Louis. "Is that what you want, Louis? You wanna be my friend? That's all you wanna be?"

Louis gulped, slowly nodding.

"Fine," said Harry, standing back up. He looked round at everyone, giving them his best fake smile, though it wasn't very convincing. "You've got what you want. We're friends, all right? Now, I was kind of busy before you got here. So if you don't mind ..." he trailed off, hoping they got the message.

"You don't want us to stay with you?" Liam asked.

"No," Harry said. "I'd rather be alone. You lot let yourselves in so you can let yourselves back out." He walked past the boys without so much as a goodbye, heading back to his room.

"He's really upset about all this," mumbled Niall.

"Yeah," agreed Zayn. "If only you remembered, Lou ..."

"Sorry," Louis apologised. "I wish I could."

Liam and Louis locked eyes at that moment. Liam showed guilt and Louis showed hurt.

The other boys had no idea what that glance meant.

Or what Louis and Liam were silently telling each other.
