School sucks dude.
I feel so uncomfortable with the idea of starting at a new school again. Every time it's the exact same thing. I walk in, then have trouble finding my locker, then I take forever finding my first class and I'm usually late to it. I hate being late to class. Not because I'm a huge school geek or anything, it's just that whenever you walk in late everybody in the classroom turns to the door and stares at you. And then I don't know where to sit so I just stand there looking really awkward until the teacher finally has me sit down at a desk. Then later, during lunch I try to find the only empty table away from everybody else and barely eat anything. I feel relieved finally getting out at the end of the day. Like I said, I hate school.
"Hey Gerard, we're leaving in five!" I heard Nicole shout through the bathroom door.
"Okay!" I yell back then step out of the shower.
I put on my "Hawthorne Heights" shirt and some black skinny jeans. Yes, most people would consider this "emo" but I really don't care. I ran my fingers through my my black hair. My teal roots were starting to fade. I quickly decided that I need to redo them soon and left the bathroom. Nicole was standing by the door with her keys in her hand.
"Come on as much as I hate school, I don't want to be late. Plus, it's your first day! We need to be there early enough to get your schedule and see who you have for first period." She said with a smile.
I'm glad to have Nicole. Most people just leave me to do everything myself. She's different though. A real friend, yeah I've always wanted one of those.
I couldn't wipe the dopey smile off my face. Nicole just smiled that beautiful smile back at me and then went out the door to her car. I followed right behind.
---
There wasn't that many cars in the parking lot whenever we got there. In fact, it was pretty much empty. The only people that were there was Nicole, me, and a group of people sitting in the field across the parking lot, smoking weed.
I looked at Nicole only to see her staring at the group. I was a little confused.
"Nicole, I thought you said we were almost late. Where is everybody?" I said, confusion clear in my voice.
She turned to me and gave me a sheepish smile.
"Okay, so the bell actually doesn't ring to go to class for another thirty minutes." she said.
"Nicol-"
"I'm sorry okay!" she interrupted. "I just like to get here early because... he's here." she says then turns back to the group and sighs.
"Who?" I ask.
"Dallon Weekes." she says in a dream-like state. "He's the really tall, giraffe looking one over there." I instantly see who she's talking about. He really is tall. I let my eyes roam over the rest of the group. There's three other people.
Nicole sees me looking and immediately starts naming them off.
"The really hot one with glasses is Brendon, the boy next to him, the one that dresses like he belongs in The Beatles, is Ryan. And of course you have Frank Iero. The most annoying and insufferable one of them all. They're all burnouts and like to pull pranks. But Frank, he is the worst. One time, he actually brought in live crickets and let them loose in the cafeteria. It wasn't just a couple either, lots of them. Everybody was freaking out. Then the teachers couldn't figure out who did it so everybody that had lunch that period went to detention for three weeks. I didn't even think they were allowed to give that many people detention at once! But they did and it was Hell."
I guess he felt me looking at him because he turned towards me and smirked. He had a lip and nose ring. He was wearing a Misfits shirt and skeleton fingerless gloves. His style is actually very cool. I looked away and started walking towards the building with Nicole.
"I'm serious Gee," she says, "He's hot yeah, but you need to stay away from him."
I stop and look at her, "Oh trust me I know fuckboys like him, you don't have to worry." We finally get inside the school and turn the corner to go towards the office,
"He's not my type."
