"So-"
Cisco started, glancing at his bestfriend who's been uncharacteristically immersed in her phone for the last hour. Judging by the biting of the lip, tucking of a strand of hair behind her ear like a lovestruck schoolgirl and the intense blushing - he knew exactly who was at the other end of the line. Smirking to himself, he slid his chair closer to her and leaned sideways.
"-I'm assuming that you and Barry are finally a thing now?"
He asked with a raised brow, only for the question to fall on deaf ears once again. He tried to suppress the oncoming eyeroll but only until he cleared his throat twice and still got nothing did he indulge himself in a rather dramatic one.
Groaning, he tried to capture her attention by calling her name but to no avail. He sighed deeply for he knew he had to resolve to his go-to tactic.
Clearing his throat, he said, "Hey, Barry. You're here early."
As if the name alone worked like a magic spell, Caitlin's eyes left her phone for the first time that morning, looking up to see the man she's been texting with only to find an empty space staring back at her.
She immediately corrected her friend, "He won't be here until lunch Cisco. He had a ton of case files to catch up with today."
Cisco snorted, "And whose fault is that? He deserves much worse than that if you ask me."
Caitlin sighed, knowing well enough where this conversation is going. "Cisco, aren't you still not over that? We just took at time off for a couple of days. You don't have to make a big deal out of it."
"Nope, nah-uh." He shook his head, crossing his arms on top of his chest as he faced Caitlin. "Keyword, we. You guys went on a roadtrip without me and you think I'll get over it just like that? What happened to hashtag bring back the original team flash?"
She rolled her eyes at how he's being overly dramatic about the whole ordeal. "Cisco, how many times do we have to explain it to you that we actually invited you? And you were the one who turned as down in the first place."
"Because!" He raised his hands up in frustration. "You told me on the last minute, right when your luggage and car is practically waiting outside my apartment in six freaking am in the morning! If I didn't know you guys better I'd think you did it on purpose so it'll only be just you and boyfie."
Caitlin's brows furrowed at the word, "My what?"
"Oh, come on Caitlin. Barry is your boyfie. Just admit it and I'll forgive you guys for going on vacation without me."
"Cisco, I told you-"
"Ah, ah, ah! I'm not listening, Caitlin." He stood up and started chanting. "Barry and Caitlin sitting on a tree, K-I-S-S-"
"Cisco! Would you stop that!" Caitlin exclaimed. "I don't even know what you're talking about!"
"Of course you do, Caity. You and Barry are a thing now. Don't even try to deny it."
Cisco spoke with utmost confidence, making Caitlin frown at the ridiculous idea. She and Barry had been friends, close friends, that's all they'll ever be.
"Barry and I are just friends and you know it." She explained.
Cisco scoffed, "Friends my ass. You see Caitlin, friends don't do literally everything with each other and based from what I can see, you and Barry are practically inseparable these days."
"Ridiculous!"
"Oh, please." He moved his chair in front of her again. "You and Barry go out for lunch everyday."
