"Barry? What are you doing here?"

"Is that how you greet your best friend that you haven't even seen the whole summer break?"

Caitlin just stared at Barry; they have been best friends for as long as they can remember. It all started when they were kids as Barry lived a couple of streets away from Caitlin's house. They've met in a park when they were seven, and ever since then, they had been inseparable.

Normally, Caitlin wouldn't even question Barry's presence in their house anytime of the day. They've reached that level of comfortability with each other and their respective families to the point that they don't really have boundaries anymore.

Not until they started dating.

Fake dating to be exact.

It happened  last year, on their third year of college when Barry came up with the stupid idea that he and Caitlin pretend to be a couple so that Iris West, the girl he's been pining for the last two years may notice him.

"You're a great guy, Bar. Anyone with eyes can see that."

"Anyone but Iris. That's for sure."

"Well, maybe, she hasn't seen your potential of becoming an amazing boyfriend yet. Have you asked her out-"

"That's it!"

"What?"

"Maybe Iris should see me in a relationship first so she can see how perfect I am as a boyfriend."

"Uhm, I don't think-"

"Oh, come on, Cait. You're the one who said-"

"I didn't exactly mean it like that-"

"But still! Now, all I need to do is find someone who can be my girlfriend."

"Barry, why don't you just ask Iris out? I think-"

"I would, but she doesn't seem to pay attention to me nor even acknowledge my presence yet, so the best course of action is to get her to notice me by introducing myself as the most amazing, perfect boyfriend material around campus."

"But then again, who would pose as your girlfriend? I'm pretty sure all women here wouldn't like the idea of you using them just to impress someone else."

"Huh, you're right. Besides, I don't think I have the heart to use someone like that. Unless..."

"Unless what?"

"Unless that someone already knows my intentions, and would willing help me with all her generous heart and soul. And I happen to know one of the most amazing women in the world, she's someone who's intelligent, beautiful, caring-"

"Alright, stop. I know what you're doing, Bartholomew."

"But Cait-"

"Nope."

"Snowflake, please! Pretty, pretty please? I promise I'll do anything you want!"

"Barry, this is ridiculous. Besides, who would ever believe us? We always spend time together, it doesn't matter if we pretend to change labels all of a sudden."

"Aha! I see your beautiful mind contemplating on the possible hurdles of the situation already. That means, you're already considering helping me."

"Ugh, sometimes I hate that you know me this well."

"Wrong! You love me, and you know that."
