Keiths birthday

Keith was turning 19 today, Pidge did her tech magic to find out when his birthday was since he wouldn't say. You just can't hide anything from her. Shiro kept him busy on the training deck while hunk made food, Pidge and Allura put up decorations, and coran talked with lance about gift ideas.

"Wow your sword skills are always incredible to see." Shiro praised him.

"Thanks. I never take a day off." He wipes sweat from his brow and takes a breath.

"It definitely pays off."

"Yeah, but I'm all sweaty now so I'm going to take a shower."

"Alright. I'm sure hunk has dinner almost done."

Shiro met everyone on the bridge, that was covered in balloons, streamers, and confetti.
"Oh Shiro, thank goodness it was only you." Allura sighed.

"We haven't finished yet, take this ear piece and go distract Keith. I'll let you know when it's time." Pidge said as she handed it to him.

"Alright." And he left again.

He met Keith at his door, he takes abnormally quick showers. "Shiro." He was a bit surprised.
"Hey."

"Hi."
They had a bit awkward silence, before Keith spoke up.
"What's up? Did you need something?"

"Um, no I um, well." He scratched his head trying to stall the best way he could.

"Okay it's good." Pidge said in his ear.

"I forgot what I wanted to say, but I'm sure dinner is ready now." 

They come up to the doors to the bridge.
"This isn't the dining room." Keith looked at him confused.

"I know." Shiro opened the doors and pull Keith inside to have everyone yell "surprise!"

"Wait what?"

"Happy birthday buddy." Hunk hugged him.

"How did you know?"

"Pidge of course." Lance messed up her hair, she swings her arm to get him away.

"Of course. Well thanks guys, I didn't think you would go all out for me."

"Well why not? It's your 19th birthday." Pidge smiled.

After they enjoyed the food, they each gave him a present.
Pidge gave him a watch that had a hologram of earth appear and showed the different times around the world.
Allura gave him special robes that every altean man wore on his 1,009 birthday. "These belonged to my father, he would be proud to have you wear them."

"Wow thank you, princess."
Shiro gave him his garrison jacket, he had Allura help stitch 'top flyer' on the back. And his name on the front.
"Shiro this is awesome."
Hunk had made a very real likeness in Keith's image on the cake and finally brought it out.
Pidge took a picture of it before anyone could ruin it.
"Wow hunk this is really.."

"Ugly just like him." Lance laughed.

"Shut up, I've never had my face on a cake before. Thanks."

Then lance got a spoonful and flung it in Keith's face. Which then started an all out food fight, with the occasional eating of the cake to really enjoy it.
It settled down once there was no more cake.
"Lance what's your present?" Pidge asked.

"Um well, I didn't get one." He scratched the back of his neck in shame, "I didn't know what to get."

"It's okay lance. It was nice that all of you even did this for me."  

"Lance you better find him something, it's his birthday after all." Allura scolds him. He let out a heavy sigh.

After the party died down Keith went to his room and tried on the robes. He looked himself in the mirror as the red and gold long cloth draped around him. A knock came at the door.
"Come in." He looks to see lance.

"Hey, wow nice robes." He meant that sincerely. He looked Keith up and down and started to blush.
"Are you okay?" Keith's voice broke him from his thoughts.

"Yeah. Um, I had a present for you. I just didn't want to give it in front of everyone." He sheepishly looked away.

"What could it be?"

"Sit down and close your eyes." He did as he was told. Lance slowly walked towards him.
"It's not an animal or something gross is it?"

"No just shush and keep your eyes closed."
In a quick movement he put his lips to Keith's for a whole 3 seconds and pulled away.
Keith sat for a moment, then opened his eyes to stare at him.
"Yeah so, happy birthday." Lance said shyly.

"Why would you kiss me?"

"Because I didn't know what to give you and ivehadahugecrushonyouforlikeeverandpidgetoldmethatyoulikedmetoo." He spoke so fast he himself barely realized what he said.

"Wait Pidge told you what? That little troll."

"If she was wrong I'm sorry just forget what just happened."

"She wasn't wrong." Lance stopped from walking out and turned to face him.

"Really? You like me?"

"You really have a crush on me?" He laughed.

"Yes I do you mullet head."
Keith got up quickly and wrapped his arms around lances neck and pulled him into a kiss. Lance deepens it by grabbing at his waist.
They break for air, and press foreheads together, as they stare into each other's eyes.

"This was the best birthday present I could ever get."

"Happy birthday, Keith."
