Chapter 47: Nate (Part 1)

"Ight bet. I'll be there ten minutes."

I didn't think I would have to fight over a female and with my homie. I would have went to war for this man. I never thought he would go behind my back and kiss Erin. I can't lie this shit hurt. It would have been easier to handle if it was a stranger of somebody I wasn't that close with, but the fact that I see this dude everyday. I just don't know how I could let it go.

I got dressed and left to Erin's place. I know I should have stayed home but when you emotions are all over the place. They're not that easy to gain back control.

Knock. Knock.

"Where he at?"

"I sent him home where you should be Nate."

"I wish I would have know. Can I come in?"

"My mother is upstairs. You need to go."

"Fine, but can I at least ask you one question?"

"You got five seconds...what?"

"Why him? You could have kissed anybody, why him?"

"...I don't know. He was there after you had embarrassed me in front of all those people. He made me feel important. Something I haven't felt in a long time."

"I didn't know I made you feel that way."

"That's because you never asked me."

"...Look E. Regardless who you choose. I'll still love you. I made a shitty ass decision and I apologise, I didn't think about your feelings and in the end I messed up."

"Thank you for saying that and respecting my time, but right now I really need to get in the house and go to bed before my mother thinks I'm out here hoeing."

"My fault I'll leave now."

"Bye Nat..." Before she could finish I leaned over and kissed her. I could tell it came as a shock because I shocked myself.

"I..." She started to say.

"So..." I was about to apologise, but she cut me off again.

"Goodnight." She closed the door leaving me on the porch by myself.

I left to home and laid in bed thinking about that kiss. I didn't plan to kiss her, but she just looked so beautiful standing there I couldn't help myself. I just hoped one day I could call her mine again. I was daydreaming when I got a phone call from Mei.

"Hey big daddy Nate."

"Wassup big poppa Mei?"

"Okay, Me and Axel are having a party Friday night. You got to come through."

"Who all gone be there?"

"You know me of course, Axel, Jaelyn, Erin and uhmm... Shaun."

"I don't know. I'm not sure you heard about what happened between me and ole Shaunie boy, but it's not best we get together. I'm not trying to start no shit. So if he's there I'm not coming."

"Come on Nate. It's a crew party and you part of the crew both y'all are. Look what if we keep y'all separated though? Look me and Jaelyn running security."

"Hell nah, definitely not going. Jaelyn rocked my shit twice. I'm don't want nothing to do with that."

"Okay, but she wants you to be here. She said herself. She misses you, she was drunk but she said it. They say drunk words, sober thoughts."

"You should be a hostage negotiator."

"Does that mean you coming to the party?"

"Man, yeah. I'll be there."
