The Roadtrip

Chapter 15

Austin's POV

Kate walked in and I had to tell her something.

I don't know how long it would take for me to tell her, but I need to.

Elaine and I have been dating for a while now.

I want to give her a promise ring, to show that we are too young now, but will wait for the better.

I have a long break from recording so much at the studio.

I am able to go home, back to Texas home.

I miss it, I was walking to the door of Elaine's room and I heard her and Kate talking about going back to Texas.

I know what I'm gonna do.

I get to have a private jet take me because my manager thinks that crazy people are always on regular planes.

But I walk in and I bring Elaine back her pizza that she wanted.

The doctor allowed it since she was a patient.

But they said that she has to take medacine with it.

"Ummm. Kate, can I please talk to you in the hallway?" I asked her nervously rubbing my hand on the back of my neck.

She nods her head and we walk outside and shut the door.

"Well, I overheard you and Elaine talking about going back to Texas soon. When we first started dating I found out that we lived in the same town." I said.

"I want to take you and Elaine back, I am on a long break with my studio becuase I've worked so hard and since I'm already practically done. I have my private jet taking me back, I seriously wouldn't mind taking you guys. You guys have treated me like family for a long time and Hunter has gotten kind of close to me too." I say nervously looking her in the eye.

"Austin I ca-" I cut her off.

"I know you don't want me to take you, you don't want to intrude. But I love Elaine, more than anything ever possible. I just feel like I need to do this for you guys. I love you and Hunter like family. You've treated me like your my second mom with some of the stuff that has been going on, Hunter is like the brother that I never had. I want to do this." I say a little more demanding.

She sighs.

"Austin, look, you've done more than enough for us too. We love you and Elaine probably feels the same with you, I wouldn't ever mind doing anything for you. I love you like the son that I never had. You are also a good influence on Hunter. You could be the male romodel that he looks up to when Elaine's dad dies." She says.

"But the hospital called about Elaine's dad. He doesn't have as long as she thinks he does. I don't know how to break it to her. It would just absolutely crush her on the inside." She says as her eyes start to get very watery.

"Did they say how long until they think he has?" I ask, getting scared.

She breaks down into tears.

"Until the end of this week, and if not, the definately next week." She said.

She now has tear stains and a little mascara smeared under her eyes.

I look at Elaine and she isn't looking, I don't want her to see Kate crying, she will know something is up.

I pull Kate back to the side some more so that Elaine can't see her.

I pull Kate into a hug, she is just crying into my shoulder.

We pull away, and I say something to her.
