Ashton's POV

When Lilah left, Michael came out of the guest room of my house.

"Is she gone?" He asks me while he peaks his head around the corner.

"Yeah, she's gone mate." I say. "And she's no longer mine."

"C'mon, man. There are plenty of other girls that would be lucky to have you. Lilah just couldn't see that. And the only reason she went to Luke is because he was there for her in a time of need."

I wipe away a tear that was rolling down my cheek. "You're right, I should just forget about it."

"That's the Ashton I was waiting to hear from. Do you want me to stay here with you today and tonight?"

I sigh, "No. I think I'll be fine. I'm just gonna clean up the house today and get her off my mind." I respond to him.

He nods and he heads towards the door when I stop him. "And Michael?" He turns to face me. "Thanks mate, for everything."

He smiles at me and then leaves.

I go into the bathroom to wipe down my face after I've cried so much.

It's not even noon yet, and I've already had a long day. I can't wait for it to be over.

When I leave the bathroom, I go to my room to see if Lilah left anything behind. And she did. It's a note.

"Dear Ashton," I read aloud. "I'm sorry things didn't work out the way we wanted them to. I just wanted you to know, I will always love you even though we aren't a couple. I hope that we can still be friends. Love always, Lilah."

I sigh and put the sticky note on my nightstand. I plop on the bed and just stare at the blank white canvas that is the ceiling.

In the living room, I hear my phone ringing to the song of The Fortunate. I look at the caller ID and it's Calum.

"Hey mate, what's up?" I say into the transmitter.

"Nothing much. I heard what happened and wanted to know if you wanted to go out or something?" He responds.

"Damn, word travels fast in this friendship, doesn't it?" I laugh.

"Yeah, and it's good to hear you laughing. So what's your answer? Yes? No? Maybe?" He pesters me.

"Nah, man. I can't. Sorry, maybe sometime this week?"

"Yeah, maybe we could out to a club, or just out in general."

"Yeah, I'd like that, Thanks man."

"No problem mate. I'll talk to you later." He says and hangs up the phone.

I sit down on the couch and flip through pictures that are on my phone.

I come across one picture of me and Lilah on holiday in LA. We were at the beach and whoever was behind the camera took a quick shot of the two of us in front of the water.

I smile at the thought of that holiday and keep scrolling.

I come across another picture where she was wearing my black Ray Bans that I had signed for her and she was making a kissy face with her red lipstick.

The last picture to come across is the selfie I took with her while she was kissing my cheek.

I admit, I am a bit lonely, but I'll get over it. I hope she makes better memories with Luke. She deserves to be happy...

And so don't I.

I decide to call Calum up again. "Hey mate."

"Yeah?"

"I'll take that club offer. Tonight." I say and hang up the phone.

Oooo! Suspense....
