Hijikata - "Do you think I'm scared of a woman?"

Do you think I'm scared of a woman? The thought made him chuckle. What made him think of that question? Of course, he couldn't really fear women. He was a man who had to be a demon Commander, strict and firm. First alongside of Kondou-san and then later he had to carry the burden of leading the Shinsengumi after Kondou was tragically executed. He was someone who had come from merely visiting a Dojo daily to protecting Kyoto with the Shinsengumi and finally then he had fought in many battles. He was a seasoned warrior and swordsman. Of course, he wouldn't be afraid of a woman. That would be absurd. Ridiculous.

"Do you think I'm scared of a woman? Ha, all the women in Edo are scary in my eye's you know. You really can't win any against of them." Hijikata mutters to himself. They were strong willed and persistent, he knew from experience. Ah, that's right. He met her. He had gotten used to her being around and it was only recently he had come to terms that he was in love with her. Perhaps that was what made her scary, her ability to worry him. The strength in her to manage to follow him all the way to Ezo baffled him, despite him having let her go. However, she was here now, and he wasn't letting her go.

"Excuse me!" A voice interrupted his thoughts, followed by a knocking on the door. Speak of the devil, arriving at the right time, right when he was thinking of her.

"Chizuru, come in." Hijikata called back. He watched as she entered with a tray of cups of tea. She made excellent tea that fitted his taste well. He felt that he was very lucky to have her here. That's right, while he wasn't afraid of women, there was just one woman who he just couldn't win against. There was one more battle yet to come before this war would likely stop and he had to fight to the bitter end. However, he would have to keep living for sake. Really, she had such an influence over him honestly. It was pretty scary really.
