Liam One Shots

Here's the first one shot: Rachel and Liam. 

I sit beside my best friends Jess and Alli. We are playing truth or dare. It’s Alli’s turn and she’s daring me. 

“I dare you to prank call someone. Just type a random number into your phone and then talk to them. Ask if they’re Liam Payne and invite them to Starbucks for a drink. ” Alli grins mischievously. 

I shrug, “Easy”.

I pick up the phone and dial whichever numbers my fingers touch. I’m surprised when a person with an english accent answers. I live in Toronto, so most people don’t have an english accent. 

“Hello?”

I grin at my friends, “I’m calling to talk to Liam Payne?” I say. 

They giggle. Jess holds her hand over her mouth and All rolls on her back. They know Liam Payne is a member of my favorite boy band, One Direction. They live in England and are on a vacation right now. No one knows where.

That’s why I’m so surprised when the voice says back, “yes, I’m Liam Payne”.

We all freeze, this couldn’t be happening. 

“I was wondering if you could meet me at the Starbucks at Yonge and Eglinton at three o'clock?” I say softly. 

I hear him hesitate, “how can I say no to a pretty voice like yours? Sure, I’ll meet you. What’s your name?”

“R-Rachel” I stutter. “You’ll know it’s me because I have dark brown hair that has a slight curl. I’m really short and have brown eyes.”

“Ok, see you in three Rachel” Liam Payne says back. Then he hangs up. The three of us start freaking out. 

“Oh My God!” Alli screams.

“You just got a date with One Direction!” Jess yells. 

“Come, we have to get you ready!” and my best friends pull me into my room to pick an outfit and do my hair and make up.

I sit in a chair in the middle of the small cafe. He probably won’t come. I was crazy to think he would show up. It’s now 5 after 3 and Liam still isn’t here. Just then the bell above the door jingles and he walks in. It’s him. 

I get up slowly and when he sees me his eyes light up. Maybe I’m just imagining that? He walks over. “Hi, I’m Liam, are you Rachel?”

I smile, “ya”.

“Can I buy you a drink?” He offers kindly. 

I smile, “sure!”

We order two tall double chocolate chip frappucinos and Liam offers to pay. I object, but he pays anyway. We take a booth near the back. 

“So how’d you get my number?” Liam asks. 

“My friends and I were playing truth or dare, I was dared to dial a random number and ask the person if they were Liam Payne and invite them out to Starbucks?” I say truthfully.

He laughs , “really?”

I nod, “ya! My friends are crazy.” There is an awkward moment of silence. “Why did you come?” I ask.

“I thought your voice was cute and all the lads were out so I thought, why not?” I smile. He takes my hand, “I’m glad I came”.

I smile, “me too”.

We finish our drinks and just talk casually. We go for a stroll threw a near by park and Liam takes my hand. The snow falls on my hair and I shiver softly from the wind. 

“A bit chilly” Liam remarks. 

“Ya” I say.

My phone beeps. I look and its Alli. 

I see you. Can we come say hi? pleaseeee - Alli

I giggle. “Liam my friends just told me they’re spying on us. They’d like to meet you. Is that ok?”

His face falls a touch and I realize he was enjoying it just being us. 

“Just for a few seconds” I promise. 

He smiles happily, “ok”.

Only for a few seconds. Liam doesn’t want you guys to interupt, ;) - Me

Alli and Jess come running over from behind a tree. I giggle. 

“Liam meet Alli, Alli Liam. Jess Liam, Liam this is my other friend Jess”.

“Nice to meet you” Liam smiles. “Would the three of you like to come back to my hotel and meet the gang?”

Alli cheers, “yes, yes, yes!” Her light brown curly hair goes bouncing up and down as she jumps in the air and her blue eyes sparkle with joy. 

Jess smiles, “Yes!”

Liam laughs and we walk the few blocks to his hotel, him holding my hand the whole time. When we get there Alli and Jess freak as they meet the rest of one direction. I know Alli’s favorite of the boys is Louis and that Jess likes Harry, so I set them up and the boys seem to like the girls too. 

We order dinner from a chinese place and then play hide and seek in teams. Niall and Zayn vs Alli and Louis vs Jess and Harry vs Liam and I. Liam and I win. The night is perfect until I have to leave. 

Alli and Jess hug the boys good bye, and give them their phone numbers. Liam takes my hand, “I haven’t known you that long Rachel, but I really like you. Will you be my girlfriend?”

I smile and whisper “yes”.

Everyone cheers and Liam kisses me softly on the lips. My life is perfect.
