"WAAAAAAAAKE UPPPP Y/N ITS TIME FOR SCHOOOOOOLLLL" Y/G yelled, making an unintentionally perfect imitation of Nemo the fish. I groaned and pressed my hands against my bed to push myself out. "Gee thanks Y/G" I muttered as they walked out my door.

I made a bolt for the bathroom to see how crazy I looked today. My H/L, H/C hair sprung up in messy curls on one side, and was matted down straight on the other. I brushed it out until both sides were left in soft, slightly frizzy curls. My eyes had dark, puffy circles underneath. 'This is what I get for staying up until 3am watching YouTube' I mentally cursed myself. I brushed my teeth until my morning breath was hopefully gone and looked at myself in the mirror. 'Good enough' I thought, shrugging into the mirror like I was in the office.

I walked back into my room and changed out of my hand me down pajamas into a F/C shirt and some jeans.

I quietly walked downstairs, cringing at the creaking sounds the stairs made.

"Oh you look beautiful!" Y/G said happily to me. I smiled tiredly before my eyes met the breakfast they'd layed out for me. I wolfed it down, and grabbed my backpack, I only had about 15 minutes until school started. I ran across the street just as the bus pulled up. I plugged in my headphones and started listening to the playlist Christine had made for me, mostly musicals, but right now walking on sunshine was playing. I smiled to myself. If this wasn't the most Christine thing ever, I don't know what is.

Once we pulled up to school, I was hyped up from the music in my ears. I ran inside and switched out my backpack for the notebooks in my locker.

Math was first today, I silently groaned. I entertained myself by watching Jeremy stare at Christine like an idiot.

By the time lunch rolled around, a sign up for the play was posted on the wall.

"No one has signed up yet" Christine pouted while me and Veronica listened intently.

Suddenly I felt a burst of confidence.

"Hey, do you have a pen?" I asked.

"Yeah, sure" Veronica said, pulling a blue pen out of her bag.

"Thanks." I said.

I walked up towards the sign up sheet and could feel eyes on me as I did. People whispered as I scribbled Y/N in bright blue letters. I heard laughs and felt tears form in my eyes.

"Won't make me any cooler." I muttered to myself as I walked to the girls bathroom.
The part that stung most was Rich laughing. I'd been best friends him in freshmen year before he decided he was too cool for me. He's changed since then, but I know if I could just be cool I could find the real him again.

"You wanna be cool?" A voice said at me through a stall.
