Everything happened in just a snap of time. What does this vampire truly want? I trusted him, and he played with my feelings. Every action of his felt like a dagger to my heart.

"Good morning, sir!" The officer greeted me while I was lost in my thoughts.

I turned to see the man the officer was addressing—the very man I once admired. Akhil Chowdary strode through the crowd. Before, when he would meet me, it felt like heaven. But now, a powerful, almost suffocating aura surrounded him. His eyes were a deep, unsettling red, making me fear him for the first time.

"Officer, your work is done. I'll call you later," Akhil commanded in a tone that left no room for argument. His gaze locked onto mine. Instinctively, I tightened my grip on Vineel's hand. Akhil's eyes fell upon our intertwined fingers, and I saw him struggle to contain his anger before he looked back at me.

"Ms. Chamarty, it's a crime to leave work unfinished," he said, his voice laced with a menace that sent shivers down my spine. This was not the Akhil I once enjoyed meeting—this was someone entirely different. Vineel began to argue, but Akhil silenced him with just a deadly glare.

"Mr. Vineel, may I have a private word with the lady?" Akhil asked, his voice polite but filled with underlying force. I shot Vineel a pleading look, begging him to stay, but he left, abandoning me with the bloodsucker. I averted my eyes, unable to meet Akhil's piercing gaze.

He handed me some papers—agreements I had signed. "Read the instructions carefully," he commanded. My eyes skimmed the document, and my heart sank. The instructions were clear: anyone involved in the project was bound to see it through to completion. These were the papers I had signed after my presentation. How could I have forgotten this? No wonder the officer was ready to arrest me earlier!

"A...am s...s..sorry, Mr... Mr. Chowdary," I finally managed to stammer.

"I didn't read the instructions properly. I'll resume work tomorrow," I added, trying to sound professional, still avoiding his gaze.

"I care deeply about my company, Ms. Chamarty. Don't make me regret choosing yours to handle this project," he warned, his eyes narrowing as if he were contemplating something far more sinister. I nodded, unable to form any words.

As I turned to leave, my foot caught on the floor, and I stumbled. But before I could hit the ground, a cold pair of arms caught me, sending an involuntary shiver through my body. I opened my eyes and found myself staring into Akhil's. The same eyes I had once admired during our first meeting at the coffee shop. But now... now he was different. Without a word, he set me upright, glanced at his watch, and walked away.

Why was he behaving so strangely? Why didn't he mention our encounter from yesterday? Vineel returned, his eyes full of regret. He looked like he wanted to apologize, but words failed him. He drove us back to the room in silence.

Oh God, please have mercy on me. This bloodsucker won't leave me alone, I prayed silently.

The next morning, I dressed in my professional attire, dreading the inevitable encounter with him. Harshi, Vineel, and I discussed our three-month course for completing the project. Come on, Sushvi... just endure him for three more months, and then you'll be free...

We arrived at the office and met with the manager to continue our work. But Akhil was nowhere to be seen. Where could he be? Why do you care? You didn't want to see him, right? My subconscious scolded me.

Yes, why do I care? I focused on my work.

Three weeks passed, and still no sign of him. I worked in peace, getting along well with the team. But something felt missing. Why did I miss him? Seeing his smile, his serious face—it all made me mad for him.

Today was long and exhausting. Vineel and I were the last ones working late into the night. "It's already 1 a.m.," Vineel said, glancing at his watch. "Yeah, but we still have some work left," I replied, pointing to the remaining files.

We worked for another hour. "I'll be back in a few minutes," he said, leaving before I could respond. I was too absorbed in my work to notice how much time had passed. When I finally did, I realized Vineel hadn't returned. I felt a wave of loneliness and fear.

"Vineel... Vineel!" I called out, but there was no response. The silence was unsettling. I decided to check the rest of the office. It was a huge building, and we only worked on the third floor. I pressed the button for the top floor in the lift. Maybe he's on the terrace? I walked through the empty hallways, checking every room.

Finally, I reached the last and largest room. I hesitated, but then opened the door. "Why did you come here, Ms. Chamarty?" The voice boomed across the room, making me jump. I looked up and saw him standing with his back to me.

"Sir, I'm sorry to disturb you, but... I'm looking for Mr. Vineel," I said, trying to muster some confidence.

He turned to face me, and I instantly regretted coming here. What was I thinking? "Oh, I see... You came to the CEO's office looking for a stupid, pretty employee?" he asked, gritting his teeth.

"Akhil..." I stopped myself, correcting my tone to something more professional. "Mr. Chowdary, I apologize for the interruption," I said, avoiding his gaze and moving towards the door. But in a flash, he was in front of me, staring deep into my eyes. I felt myself getting lost in them again.

"Can you stop drooling over me?" he asked, amusement lacing his voice. I quickly averted my eyes. Damn it, why can't he just leave me alone? "Call me Akhil," he said, but this time in a serious tone.

I shook my head. "No, it's against company rules," I replied, still looking away as I made my way to the door. But before I could leave, he grabbed my waist and pulled me close.

"Let me go!" I shouted, but his grip only tightened.

"Let me go, you bloodsucker!" I hissed, emphasizing the last word. His hands loosened, and a pained expression crossed his face. I took the opportunity to step away from him. As I was about to close the door behind me, I heard a loud thud.

I turned back, shocked to see him lying on the floor, as if he had fainted...

Omg ..Akhil ?!
