Akhil point of view
Such an innocent soul, she is. I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I would encounter someone as captivatingly peculiar as her. The way she mentioned wanting to marry a vampire keeps echoing in my mind. That kiss—the first kiss, albeit on her forehead—was a fleeting touch, yet it ignited a fire within me. I wanted to pull her into my arms, to kiss her passionately, to make her my own. Her happiness has become my foremost concern. I cannot bear to see her in distress; I need her to always be joyful.
I yearn to reveal my true self to her, yet I am paralyzed by the uncertainty of her reaction if she were to learn the truth about me.
"Akhil, Mr. Williams is here," Alec's voice cut through my thoughts.
I rose from my seat and walked into the living room. Mr. Williams sat on the opposite end of the couch, his demeanor somewhat apprehensive.
"Sir, is everything alright?" he inquired, his tone tinged with unease.
"Yes, everything is fine. I called you here to discuss the upcoming project presentation scheduled for tomorrow," I said.
"The Vensor project, sir," he confirmed.
"Precisely. I need you to ensure we secure this contract, regardless of the presentation's quality," I instructed.
"Sir? But why? There are other companies that can offer better alternatives," he protested, his confusion evident.
"Mr. Williams, I believe my intentions are clear. And please, do not intimidate the person presenting tomorrow," I replied firmly.
"But sir—" he began, but I cut him off.
"You may leave now," I said decisively.
Sushvi's Perspective
"Good morning, Sushvi," Harshi greeted as I entered, wrapping me in a warm hug.
"Morning," I replied, returning the embrace. Today was the day of our company presentation. After a quick shower, I donned my formal attire and awaited Vineel's arrival.
"So, how are you feeling?" Harshi asked, observing me fidgeting with my necklace. Nervous? Anxious? Excited? It was a turbulent blend of emotions.
"I can't quite describe it," I admitted candidly. She chuckled.
"Don't worry; it will all be perfect!" she assured me. I felt a pang of guilt at the thought of her finding out about Akhil's kiss on my forehead. She would not take it well.
"Yes, it will," I echoed, though doubt lingered.
"Vineel's here," Harshi announced as Vineel walked in.
"Let's go!" he said, smiling.
At the Office
I was in the board meeting room of Chowdary Estates, feeling a wave of trepidation. "You can do this. Just be confident," my inner voice urged.
Akhil's words of encouragement played in my mind, bolstering my courage. "Ms. Sushvi, you may begin your presentation," Mr. Williams called out.
I closed my eyes, envisioning Akhil's reassuring face. "Be strong, my girl," he had said. I opened my eyes slowly, meeting the gazes of the board members.
The slideshow commenced, and I began my presentation.
Later
"This is the theme of our project," I concluded with poised confidence. The room fell silent, and I felt a surge of apprehension. Mr. Williams stared at me, his expression inscrutable.
A slow clap broke the silence, followed by applause from the board members. Mr. Williams finally spoke, "Marvelous. I never expected such excellence from this company. Excellent presentation," he praised.
Vineel's smile radiated satisfaction. "Awesome," Harshi whispered.
"Thank you," I said, beaming with pride. Mr. Williams inquired about the project's start date, and Vineel eagerly responded.
After the formalities, as we left the building, Vineel embraced me. "You did it! I knew you could!"
"Let's celebrate!" Harshi and Vineel exclaimed in unison.
"I need to thank someone first," I said, my heart yearning for Akhil. "Guys, go ahead. I'll catch up with you."
"Where are you going?" Vineel asked.
"I... I just need to get some chocolate," I stammered. Harshi rolled her eyes. "You know her, Vineel. She loves chocolate."
They left, and I hurried to Queen'sway, ready to call Akhil.
"Trying to call me?" a familiar voice said. I turned and, without a second thought, ran to embrace him. His warmth enveloped me, and for a moment, I lost myself in the hug. After a few minutes, I stepped back.
"Thank you! The presentation went so well. They were praising me," I exclaimed, excitement bubbling over.
"And Vineel is thrilled. They said they'll start the work soon," I continued, but Akhil placed his finger on my lips.
"Shh. Not here," he said, noting the curious glances from passersby.
Embarrassed, I looked down, smiling. He took my wrist and led me to a bench where we had sat the previous day. "Are you happy now?" he asked.
"Triple!" I affirmed.
Suddenly, a man with striking blonde hair appeared, his lean frame radiating an air of arrogance.
"She won't be pleased if she discovers what you are," the man taunted.
Akhil's expression darkened, his jaw clenched. "Not now. Leave," he commanded.
The man laughed menacingly. "Let me taste your girlfriend's blood before I go," he said.
What? My blood? Is he a vampire? And he called me his girlfriend? I turned to Akhil in shock.
"Is he a vampire?" I asked, fear creeping into my voice.
The blonde man grinned. "Yes, dear, I am," he said, advancing.
I didn't want Akhil to get hurt. "Please, let her go," I pleaded. But before I could react, the man was on the ground, bruised and battered.
"Akhil?! Are you alright?" I rushed to him, only to be met with a startling sight: his fangs were prominently displayed.
"You bloodsucker! I won't let you off lightly next time," the blonde man spat before retreating.
"Are you a vampire?" I demanded. He didn't answer, simply turning away and walking off. I followed him, calling out, "Akhil, wait!"
But within seconds, he had vanished. So, he is a vampire?
Unknown Perspective
"Good job, James!" I praised.
"Well, I did end up with a bruise," James replied, rubbing his side.
"Don't worry about it," I said.
"What was your plan, Arnav? You sent him to Sushvi, and he came back injured. What's the gain?" my sister questioned, exasperated.
I chuckled. "Sushvi didn't know Akhil was a vampire. By sending James, I made her aware of his secret. No girl wants to be with someone who hides such a crucial part of themselves. Now, she'll likely distance herself from him," I explained.
My sister's expression brightened. "You were right," she said. We both laughed, satisfied with the outcome.
How will Akhil deal with this revelation?
