"Are you sure you're alright?" Macy asks gently picking up my arm.
"I'm sure. I just won't climb trees as much anymore," I chuckle.
"Girl, next time you even move, you better have a full body bubble wrap suit on," Chris comments.
"Yes ma'am," I salute to him.
"Also," Macy pokes me in the ribs repeatedly, making me choke on my tea, "Who's the blonde that you talked to after school?" she smirks.
"That's just Will, he's my tutor." I lie, taking a bite out of my donut.
"Tutor? In what class, chemistry? Or is it science, cause girl I can see fireworks," Chris winks at me.
"You just wanted to fit as many puns in one sentence didn't you?" I raise my eyebrows at him.
Macy chuckles, "You didn't deny it! Do I see an upcoming crush here?"
"If I say yes will you drop it?" I question.
"Yes, I promise," Chris says as Macy crossed her heart.
"Fine, yes, I kind of do like him." I shrug.
"Hah," Chris shows me his fingers that are crossed, "Psych! Tell me more about him. Does he smell good? Have you kissed? Does he have a brother?!"
"Dude!" I grab his arm, "yes, no, and kind of. Now, get off my back before I commence the next World War Prank on you," I smirk.
Last time we had a World War Prank, we all got suspended, grounded for four months, and lost a hamster.
"Yeah, nope," Macy laughs nervously.
"That's right. I'm the pranking queen bow before me," I throw my arms up as they scoff or roll their eyes.
For the next two hours we gossip, laugh, and tease each other.
"You know what," Macy smirks after taking a sip of her green tea, "I think it's time for another annual Friday night sleepover."
"Like the ones we had in like the ninth grade?" I scoff.
"Yes, please," Chris grabs my hands.
"You're like two children asking their mom to get a puppy," I roll my eyes.
"So that's a yes?" Macy asks with a grin.
"I see no reason why not to," I shrug and send Ethan a text saying that they're coming over. We walk out of the cafe and make our way to my car. Macy and Chris are in walking distance from their house, I on the other hand, like 20 minutes walking, plus I'm lazy.
We walk to the small parking lot on the other side of the road when Macy falls quiet and keeps her head down and whispers, "I think that man is following us."
I look behind us to see a 6"4'ish man with a dark hood pulled over his head.
"Keep walking, pull out your phone. If they see that three teens have phones they're less likely to kidnap people who can call the police." I instruct quickly.
"He's getting closer," Chris mumbled, looking over his shoulder.
"Run to the car, I think I know who it is. He won't hurt me, run." I shove them and put my keys in Chris' hand.
I keep walking and hang my head. I speak loud enough to for him to hear.
"If you get any closer, just know that I have a concealed weapon on me," I lie. The man stops and turns around leaving my heart racing. I walk to the car and see Macy in the back and Chris upfront looking nervous.
