He pulled up on his bike early morning, on a slightly foggy chilly day. Danny found himself at a gate opening with a sign that read, Forest Hills Cemetery. Got off his bike locking it near a tree not to far from the gate, decided to walk the rest of the way out of respect.
He followed the long straight path towards the hilltop, along the way what seemed like thousands of tombstones throughout the hill side. Even though he is surrounded by the view of lose, with many sad thoughts running through his head he can't help but to feel at peace, every time he visits the cemetery hoping everyone buried here are in a better place without pain.
At the very top of the hill, he walked past a few graves before ultimately sitting in front of a tombstone. Engraved on this particular tombstone, Here lies friend to many, loving mother and daughter Diana Santos. Taking a red rose out of his backpack resting it in front of the tombstone.
Stared at the tombstone with hurt and wonder. "Hey momma, here I am again just like every year of the last day of school. I made it another year with amazing grades you'd be proud. I still don't understand why you did what you did, yes dad was gone but you still had me, sometimes I wonder if maybe I wasn't enough for you to stick around."
"Even though I can tell dads accident took a heavy toll I would have never thought you'd take your own life, let alone just 4 months after his passing." I still can't seem to muster up enough confidence to visit his grave even after five years have passed." But grandma is taking great care of me we both miss u, grandma seems to be getting better with the meds she has been taking. You don't have to worry I'll look after her, I love you and I miss you momma see u next year."
Standing up forming a peace sign with his hands, kissing both fingers before placing both fingers on the tombstone. He walked back down the hill through the large gate opening he unchained his bike, and hopped on started making his way to school. His school was about a twenty minute bike ride from the cemetery.
Rode his bike alongside the street passing multiple kids on the sidewalk walking to school, shortly after turning the corner in front of Frank Williams High. stopped in front of a bike rack to lock it up for the day.
"Yo guess who's having a party tonight?" His best friend walked up to him full of energy, as they do there secret handshake.
"Trevor you know damn well we ain't cool enough to be invited to anyone's party." Trevor a tall six foot two black kid from the same rough neighborhood as Danny, with a high top fade haircut, wearing a laker jersey with black jeans, black shoes.
"Ok Danny im going to need u to take all that negative energy, and throw them out a window." The party is open to anybody, hello u and me are anybody."
They might say open to anybody but we all know only the cool kids will show up."
"I don't know about you but I'm cool as a fool in a swimming pool."
"Ok then, if you're so cool go up to those group of girls and get one of their numbers."
"Pshh that's all I have to do, easy watch the master at work take notes."
Trevor walked up to the group of girls conversing amongst each other.
"What does Trevor think he's doing," a girls voice said behind Danny. Standing behind him is Kiana and Shi. Kiana with caramel colored skin, curly black hair, beautiful hazel eyes that take your breath away, wearing a tan shirt that complimented her skin, and light blue skinny jeans.
Shinece but she prefers to be called Shi, light skin girl with a street emo feel, brown eyes, a cap covering her black straight hair that looked like it hasn't been brushed, nose pierced, light blue skinny jeans, with a jacket to match.
