Virgil, Roman, and Logan all stood outside the new door waiting for Patton. Roman checked his watch again and again.
"Where is he?"

"Well maybe," interjected Logan, "you should have told him where to go."

"Guys!"
Down the hall came Patton, carrying a large picnic basket, but he wasn't alone. Behind him was a very flustered Deceit, being pulled along by his arm.

Virgil hissed at the sight of the overgrown snake.
"Why is he here?"

Patton smiled.
"He wanted to come with us."

Logan looked Deceit up and down. The look on his face was clear. He was planning something.
"Are you sure he wasn't lying?"

Patton looked back and Deceit pulled the most innocent face he could. Truth be told, Patton was far too trusting sometimes. He liked to see the best in people, even Deceit.
"Logan I'm ashamed of you. He's trying to be nice and we should support him."

Roman just shrugged.
"Alright, but if anything goes wrong it's your fault Pat."
He led them through the door into what looked like a camp in an open meadow.
"Welcome to adventure base camp! From here you can go on any adventure you want!"

Virgil looked to his right and nearly fainted.
"Is that Halloween Town from The Nightmare Before Christmas?!"

"Yep."

"Sweet."
Suddenly, Virgil forgot about Deceit and began running to the distant town. Of course, being Virgil, he tripped over a rock and fell face first into the dirt.

Patton left Deceit and quickly ran to help Virgil up. He didn't look hurt, just a bit stunned, but Patton wanted to check him over anyway.
"Why don't we eat lunch first before we rush off?"

Logan nodded.
"Yes, that may be a good idea."

In a few moments the blanket was spread out and everyone took their seats with their food. While Logan and Patton were busy with Virgil, Deceit saw his moment. Slowly and carefully, he scooted up next to Roman.
"Impressive work you've done."

Roman was startled by the compliment, but he did love when someone acknowledged his awesomeness.
"Thank you Deceit. It took me a while, let me tell you."

"You know Roman, you and I have very similar purposes in life."

"How?"

"Well you're all about creativity, and lying does take a lot of creativity. I bet you could be a better liar than I am if you put your mind to it."

"Maybe but..."

"Just a thought."
The snakey side nodded thoughtfully.
"So... if this is full of fantasy stuff, are there any witches? Not the Harry Potter kind, but the evil spells, magical potions and curses kind."

Roman laughed.
"Obviously, I even included the worst of them all."
Roman pulled his dramatic face and voice.
"The Dragonwitch."

Deceit's eyes literally lit up a bit, not that Princey noticed. He was too busy stroking his own ego. Deceit's plan was falling into place.
"Could we go find its lair? Maybe you can show off your fighting skills."

"That is a wonderful idea Deceit!"

While this was happening, Virgil was fighting off an overly caring Patton while Logan looked on.
"He seems to be fine Patton."

"Yeah Pat, I'm fine. Just a little bruised."

Patton sighed and eased off.
"Alright. Sorry Verge. I guess I've been getting a little carried away recently."

"It's fine Patty."
