When Thomas awoke the next morning, he felt strange. He glanced around trying to decide what was different, but everything seemed to be in its proper place. With a sigh he rolled out of bed and made his way to the kitchen for breakfast.
As he poured his cereal, he tried to decide on a video topic for the day. For some reason, he still felt like something was wrong. This wasn't an emotional or physical sense, this was something else entirely. He felt something was wrong on a deeper level, which could only mean trouble with the Sides.
Curiously, he stood in the place where he typically filled his Sanders Sides videos and called for his doubles.
"Guys? Is everything okay?"There was no response. No Virgil with dark comments, no Patton with loving support, no Logan with his clear perspective, not even Roman showed up with his fanciful ideas. It was still and quiet.
"Hello?"
This time, there was a response.
"Hello Thomas."Thomas turned his head to the spot Patton usually stood in and found a familiar snake-y face.
"Deceit! What have you done?""Why do you assume I did something?"
"Because you're the only bad guy we have now that Virgil had his redemption arc. Now what did you do?"
Deceit sighed. Thomas thought for a second he looked... remorseful.
"I just wanted to mess with them a little. I didn't mean to cause all of this."Thomas thought for a second.
"How do I know you're telling the truth."Deceit grabbed him by the shoulders and forced Thomas to look him in his mismatched eyes.
"Because you don't have much of a choice. Now come with me and I'll explain, and yes I know how crazy this story is about to sound."
