After lunch, the group cleaned up and begins to head, not to Halloween Town to Virgil's disappointment, but to a large mountain none of them recognized from anything. As they walked, Roman carefully began to sharpen his Samurai sword, making it clear to the others he expected a fight.

After what felt like hours they reached the base of the mountain. At its base was a large cave opening surrounded by glowing purple runes. Logan studied them carefully.
"Roman, not to be rude, but did you bring us to the cave of the Dragon Witch on purpose?"

"Yes. Why?"

Patton fiddled with his cardigan, clearly a bit concerned.
"Well kiddo, its just that that seems a bit dangerous for our first adventure. Maybe we should try something else first."

Virgil nodded.
"Yeah. Maybe we should check out Halloween Town for a little while first."

Deceit laughed and placed an arm around Roman.
"Oh relax guys. It's okay. We're perfectly safe. What with the brave and strong Prince Roman in charge."

Roman stood a bit straighter (haha very funny) under Deceit's praise. Only Patton seemed convinced by Deceit's words, Virgil and Logan less so. They could practically see the puppet strings Deceit was pulling on Roman and Patton.

Unfortunately, as they were about to object, they ground began to shake under the footsteps of something massive. They all turned slowly as a shadow fell over the group. The creature was large, with shiny purple and black scales, bright golden eyes, wings the size of a football field, and a tiny little witch hat balanced between sharp green horns.

Roman raised his sword and stepped in front of the others.
"Dragon Witch, we meet again."

The monster let forth a string of unintelligible words in response, causing the ground to begin to glow. First red beneath Roman, then light blue beneath Patton, then Dark blue under Logan, and finally a dark purple for Virgil. Deceit was nowhere to be seen at the moment, having presumably run off when the Dragon Witch appeared.

As quickly as the glowing appeared it faded again and Roman ran to attack. As he did so, the others fell back, unable to help and still a little concerned about the whole business with the glowing ground and what sounded like a curse. Virgil was practically having a nervous breakdown.

"What did it do to me?! I know it did something! Am I going to die now?"

"Possibly."

Patton slapped Logan on the arm for that response and began to try and reassure Virgil.
"I promise you'll be fine Kiddo. It was probably just meant to scare us, nothing else. Just take deep breaths."

Virgil nodded and began to take slow, deep breaths to calm himself down, watching as Roman fought the monster and hoping he wouldn't die.
