Nolan was pronounced dead later that night. My dad came into my room and told me everything. I couldn't bear it. I cried for hours and hours, telling myself that this was all just a nightmare. But I knew it wasn't.

Many people attended his funeral. I felt that I was the only one who knew him for who he really was. All his friends saw him as a jock who got all the girls and had a wealthy life at home, and they were wrong. I stayed after the funeral, just looking at his grave. I felt like I had nothing to do with my life anymore.

"Hey." a familiar voice greeted. I turned around and found Sawyer standing above me.

"Here, have this." he said as he handed be a small, black box. "He wanted to give this to you for your six-month anniversary. Trust me, he went on and on about it for weeks."

I opened the black box, and a necklace with a blue charm glistened inside. I held it up. "It's so beautiful." commented.

"He said it reminded him of your eyes." Sawyer added. He sat down next to me. "You know, Nolan was bullied too. All throughout middle school. He wanted to get revenge, so he started doing it to other people once he got into high school. But he always complained about not having any friends, even though I was there for him the whole time. He realized his mistake when he met you. You really changed him, Stacy."

I couldn't think of anything else to say, so I just thanked him for being here.

"No problem." He stood up and left.

I stayed there for a few more minutes, then I finally got up. As I was leaving the cemetery, I glanced at my necklace. Then I took one last look at his grave.

"Goodbye." I whispered into the air.
