The next day went okay. Well, maybe most of it. My morning started out with me seeing Nolan making out with his girlfriend. I kind of wished I didn't see that, because it seemed to bother me a little. Later in the day we turned in our projects. We got it back a while after, and we got a pretty good grade on it. And finally, after-school tutoring. Guess who I saw sitting on a chair when I walked into the room?
"You've gotta be kidding me." I said with disappointment.
"Well what were you expecting?" Nolan asked.
"Anyone but you." I replied, rolling my eyes.
"Keep rolling those eyes, maybe you'll find a brain back there."
"Says the one who needs to be tutored regular geometry." I shot back.
"Touché." he replied with a grin. "You know, I bet you're just jealous that I've had more girlfriends than you've probably ever had boyfriends."
"You're right. In fact, I've never dated."
"Well that's not surprising."
"But if you think that many girls go after you, just remember that low prices attract many customers."
Nolan's smile faded. "It's no wonder you sit alone at lunch all the time, no one wants to hang out with a bitch like you."
"That's nice hun. Can we please get started now?"
So everything went well until we were stuck on a question that we couldn't agree on.
"I'm pretty sure it's 45.6. I did this like, twice already." Nolan stated.
"No it's not. You're really close to the right answer, so why don't we just look back and see the mistake you made?" I suggested.
"Ain't nobody got time for that crap, I'm sticking to this answer."
"Well if you don't find the right answer then you'll never learn from your mistakes! So please just stop being so ignorant! It'll solve both of our problems!"
Nolan smirked. "Maybe you should just kill yourself. Now that will solve both of our problems."
Well that one really hurt. Even though I hated him, it still hurt. I stood up and stormed out of the room without saying a word. I tried to hold back tears but I couldn't. I went into the bathroom and sat on the floor. I pressed my face on my hands and sobbed.
I heard footsteps and they sat right next to me. I knew it was Nolan, but I didn’t bother looking up. “Go away.” I said.
“I’m really sorry, okay? That was a really stupid thing to say.” he spoke softly.
“Just go away. You’re not even supposed to be here.”
I didn’t hear a movement, so I looked up. He did not look in the least bit dejected. “You don’t even care, so you should just leave.” I added.
“Stacy, if I didn't care, then why would I be here?"
I looked at him. He had pretty eyes; the color of bright emerald. I quickly stood up. “I gotta go, see you tomorrow.” I stated.
“Wait, do you forgive me?” he asked.
“I guess so.” I replied. Then I walked out.
I tried to not fall in love with him. Why him?
Like I said, I tried.
