4:49pm - Flight due to take off from Heathrow in three hours.

I stared into the mirror. My scruffy brown hair sat effortlessly on my head. I tightened my collar and straightened my suit. Most who see me say I'm a spitting image of Leonardo DiCaprio. I sprayed a small spritz of Michael Kors on my wrists and neck then headed down to the taxi.

"Goodbye, Hugo. Have a safe flight will you?" Mother kissed me gently on the forehead as if I was four again. I barely see her and today I was about to leave for a full school year. "Be your charming and witty self, will you?" She smiled and laughed.

"I will miss you, mother." I smiled sadly. Her shiny brown hair was tied back in a tight bun. Her eyelashes were coated in a thin layer of mascara and she was wearing one of her favourite pairs of earrings from her Pandora Rose set.

Mother sniffed back a sparkle of tears and straightened up. "Okay you, let's get you in the taxi."

"I still don't understand why I had to join the school a month after the start of school." I turned around and looked at my mother questioningly.

"Well," she paused for a moment. "You can make an entrance now without everyone else rushing past you." She smiled again but this time she breathed tightly.

I put down my shoulder bag and went to give her a hug. She tensed at first but then relaxed. She didn't usually have time to talk to me. She was a business women, always gone before I woke up, fancy suits or dresses, coffee in the morning, rich husbands...

"Oh look at the time, Hugo, you're going to miss your flight!" She gave the taxi driver all my luggage and guided me inside and shut the door. I rolled down the window and smiled up at her. "It'll be a significant change at first, you know," she sighed. "State school environment." she said this tightly.

"We have discussed this already Mother," I have always gone to Eton. Both my mother and my father went to Eton so I was easily accepted. Now I will be going to a state school in Brooklyn for the rest of my education till university. "It isn't a 'downgrade', think of it as... a... a new experience?"

She raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "Alright then." She took one last look at me. "See you later, Hugo."

I nodded and rolled the window back up.

"All set?" The taxi driver called from the front.

"I believe so." I breathed, took one last look at our expensive terrace among a long row of other identical terrace houses and faced forward to begin my new life.
