You blinked awake, slowly touching your stinging jaw, your stiff arm, your aching throat. The events flooded back.
You shot up straight, Jay frozen in the doorway ahead of you.
His eyes wide, he turned and started shouting over his shoulder, "She's up! She's awake! Guys!"
You rubbed your head as he took off down the hall.
"I'm getting really sick of being unconscious," you grumbled, looking around.
You were in a wood-beamed room, accented in paint or simple fixtures in red. Everything was nailed down, the ship shifting just slightly.
Your gaze stopped on the open door. You jumped out of bed, wobbled, and grabbed your cloak that had been beside you, taking off out the door.
With Jay's shouting coming from the left, you dove to the right, your feet thudding against the thick wood of the floor. You flew down the length of the corridor, up a flight of stairs, and burst out a door onto the deck, gasping in several breaths of the cold thin air.
Cole stopped, standing bare-chested in the midst of some training equipment on the deck.
The Bounty was stilled among the clouds, the white wisps like a sea around you, broken by islands of jagged mountain peaks. The several stories of the cabin and its other structures rose up behind you, the sails spread above to shade the deck, casting shadows of their red patterns across the ship.
You caught a glance of the distant ground through a gap in the clouds, the landscape like fuzzy patchwork.
Great, you were stuck miles in the air on a mystical flying ship. What a lovely prison.
Cole yelled something and started towards you. You whirled and dashed back into the ship. You dodged past Jay's grip, the blue ninja startled enough to miss you.
You caterwauled on down the hall, turned the corner, and whirled again at the sight of Kai, disgruntled and in pajamas.
He yelled something as you jerked out of sight, Jay replied, then Cole distantly, all the voices turning into a panicked jumble as Nya joined the confusion.
You heard Jay getting closer, urging you to grab the nearest knob.
Locked.
The next, locked.
Why would the doors on a ship floating in the middle of the stratosphere even need to be locked!?
You ran down the hall, trying doors till you finally found one unlocked, dashing in the door as Jay sounded like he was rounding the corner.
You blinked, but your eyes wouldn't adjust, it was pitch black in the room.
You froze as a pair of scarlet eyes opened in the middle of the room, but progressed past the startled first impression when you recognized the hue and the height they were at.
You cracked a wide smile, "Lloyd! They got you too!? Why are they keeping you in the dark?!" you were elated that he was here, but also saddened at the thought of him being taken away from Selma.
Still shuffling for the light, a sinking feeling started settling in your stomach as no reply came from him.
"L-Lloyd?" Your breath caught in your throat as the eyes rose.
Whoever, or whatever it was had been sitting, giving the illusion of a child's height.
Heavy footsteps approached, and as your hand leapt to the knob, fingers closed around your throat, pushing you back with an effortless strength into the door.
