Chapter one - Hellooo Casper

Knock. Knock.

A blonde sat comfortably in a plush, rich colored leather chair, with her heels propped ever so casually atop the sleek, office desk. Newspapers cascaded over the top of the desk as she was reading one page with her scanning blue eyes. Her reading was interrupted by another double knock on her office door. She promptly looked toward the door wondering who could be on the other side at 7:00 in the morning? Far too early for A casual meeting she though as she got up and strided across the office.

'I'll handle this' she thought to herself.

Madeline victor was a rather successful paranormal investigator operating out of nevada alongside her uncle Ian Viktor. She is much accomplished for only 25 and still able to keep up with her charmingly curious 4 year old Chanel. Chanel's dirty blonde hair was long and curly complementing Madeline's hair, which's a real 60's platinum blonde. With her gorgeous locks, and full sweetheart lips Madeline was a bombshell in night vision.

Madeline wrapped her fingers around the silver door knob, taking in a steady, soothing breath she opened the office door to reveal Debby Constantino. With a growing smile she said "good morning mad Madeline" Debby walked into the sunlit office swaying over to the colonial black couch settled in the corner. As she sat down Madeline swiftly closed the door, and walked over to the desk "Up early, or awake so late Deb?" now sitting behind the desk in her plush chair.

"I just finished a lock down over at Wayne-Phillips Asylum, you know the one about 25 minutes from here"

Madeline's eyes widened a little behind her curled eyelashes. Debby could see the excitement in her eyes as she continued "Very active halls throughout the entire building. We walked out with a large amount of new evidence which Mark is reviewing now with your uncle" Madeline's Uncle Ian had an eye for catching EVP's and apparitions.

Debby rested her tired hazel eyes for a moment while Madeline thought to herself. Madeline's mother had been a patient at that Wayne-Phillips Asylum when she unexplainably passed away. The asylum was closed shortly after that, but thinking back Madeline had just remembered that today marked 3 years since her beloved mother passed. Although she wasn't there for the most of Madeline's childhood, Madeline managed to capture rare cherished moments with her mother before her commitment into the asylum.

"when are you going back?" Madeline suddenly spoke up, facing her body towards

Debby. The eagerness and determination shown clearly through her eyes.

"later on this afternoon I believe. We are doing interviews with the Ghost Adventures Crew." Debby spoke while sitting up on the couch.

"You mean those three guys with that's god awful documentary?" Madeline suppressed a barely audible laugh.

"you'd be surprised Madeline. They've come a long way since that film." Debby said as she rose from her seat "come find out for yourself this afternoon at 5. We will be at the main entrance of the asylum." strolling out of the office She said " catch ya later Madeline"

As Madeline listened to Debby's heels click down the hallway, her head was swimming with thoughts of the asylum. She hadn't been there since the day of her mothers death.

'am I really ready to go in there' she thought out loud. As she worried about the difficulty of the night ahead, Madeline got busy with her work for the day. Fridays were always an easy day for P.A.W.S (paranormal activity witnessing squad)

Madeline's uncle Ian has been running PAWS for 6 years now, only taking time off for a series of animal charities and of course the birth of Chanel. Ever since her mothers death Ian has been working feverishly and nonstop. The death of his sister was a hard disappointment for ian to cope with. Madeline remembered vividly a day in the office a week after the death when Ian finally spoke breaking the silence between them "I always knew deep down in my mind that my sister would let those demons drag her down." tearing up a bit "I just thought she had the strength to keep getting back up." Shaking the thoughts out of her head, Madeline finished filing her work and checked the clock 11:30. She knew if she didn't go drag Ian from his office down the hall he would skip lunch without a second thought. As she was walking out of the office the sunlight through the window shown on her ivory skin. She glanced into the mirror, highlighted by the light she saw her face shine reminding her of her mothers timeless beauty. "like a modern Marilyn Monroe" her mother use to say to her when she was 14
