Chapter 39 - TimeLapse.

"Mommy take this one." Chanel exclaimed as she came in with the biggest pink teddy bear she had, which happened to be as big as her.

"Ha ha Chanel. Maybe a little smaller, ya think?" I said to her, shooting down her suggestion. Zak was helping me pack last minute because we are going to Georgia tomorrow morning for an investigation. For some reason nick booked a flight that left at 5 am. Zak, and I were planning to stay awake, and watch old horror movies to pass the time. We were both too excited for the investigation to sleep the night before we left.

I placed the clothes into the suitcase, as Chanel came back into my bedroom with a much smaller stuffed pink bunny. "This one" she said with a wide grin her blonde hair bounced as she jumped up, and plopped on the bed.

"Alright, I'll take Mr. Carrots." I said placing him in the front of the suitcase so his head poked out in a funny sort of way.

"How do you remember all the names" zak said from a chair in front of my desk.

"I bought them all. Of course I remember the names she gives them. Although I still don't understand how a pink bunny is a boy" I said as if it was the obvious mom answer.

"Alright Chanel time for bed. You have school in the morning" I said as I caught her midair as she tried to jump off the bed. She giggled as zak and I took her to her room.

"Goodnight mommy." She said grabbing her big teddy bear, and getting into bed.

"Goodnight munchkin." I said kissing her forehead.

"Goodnight Chanel." Zak said as I stood up from the side of Chanel's bed.

"Goodnight zak." She said as she was falling asleep fast. Zak, and I snuck quietly out of her room, leaving the nightlight on as I shut the door.

Georgia turned out to be the best investigation we've been on. Zak, and I even found the time to sneak away from everyone, and have dinner together. I was never more excited to go home though. Chanel's kindergarten class has been working on a play for the beginning of the year.

Chanel was such a charmer, she was cast as one of the lead roles. We made it back the night before the play, and as zak, and i walked through the door Chanel was practicing to an audience made up of Natalie, and several teddy bears.

"Mommy!" Chanel yelled, bounding over to me once I closed the door.

"Hi baby" I said brightly scooping her up into my arms.

"You're gonna come see my play right!?" she asked excitedly when I set her down.

"Of course I am! I wouldn't miss you're big debut" I said with a cheeky smile.

"My big what?" She asked confused at my answer.

"Nothing sweetie." I said laughing lightly as Zak came back in with my suitcase.

"Oh zak you didn't have to do that." I said looking over to him as he set it down.

"No, but I'm going to" he said with a wink that caused the heat in my cheeks to show up.

I noticed it was already 8 o'clock, and Chanel should be in bed sleeping.
"Come on sweetie, school in the morning." I said holding my hand out for Chanel. she grabbed her favorite teddy bear from the couch, and followed me upstairs. Zak followed us up the stairs, easily carrying my heavy suitcase.

I tucked Chanel into bed, and kissed her goodnight.

"Mommy I'm glad you're back." She said fighting off the sleepiness she felt.
