23. So Important 7:30 Meeting

chapter 23 - So Important 7:30 Meeting

I woke up severally early the next morning to be at the office for some meeting. I got Chanel and I both ready in record time as I took her to daycare. She whined on the way about how she was ready to go to school like the other kids. I kept telling her in one more month she would be going to school but this little girl just couldn't wait. As I said bye to her at the daycare we said our I love you's and I gave her a kiss on the cheek.

I sped my way to work as I made it right on time to the front doors of the building. Once I walked inside to cool air hit my face and I made my way across the lobby saying good morning to our receptionist.

I reached the elevator of the office building as it's silver doors sprung open revealing Aaron

"Morning." I said stepping in as he stepped out.

"Good morning. Coffee run, want anything?" he replied looking exhausted.

"Yeah. Something strong." I said still wishing I could have slept longer. For some reason we had to be here at 7:30 this morning. Zak just said it was important new about our next location.

Aaron had a troubling smile on his face as he said gotcha as the elevator door closed and headed next door. I wondered what Aaron was up to as I waited for the elevator door to open up to the 6th floor.

Once the doors opened I spotted nick walking "good morning" I called out as he waved "hey. You ready for that meeting." He asked as he followed me to my office.

"Mhm when are we starting" I replied as I entered my office setting my stuff down and turning on my computer.

"Ahh like 10 minutes." Nick said as he walked next door to his office. I replied to emails as I checked the time it was 7:40 already. I was noticing how tired I still was when Aaron strolled in carrying coffees. I. Couldn't thank him enough as I grabbed the cup he handed to me. I took a drink and the coffee was delicious but I noticed another taste. I coughed a little.

"Aaron!"

"Mhm" he simply replied to my harsh tone.

"Did you put alcohol in this?"

"Yeah I did. I know zak, this meeting ain't gonna be good". He said a he took a drink of his spiked coffee.

"Cheers" he said as he tapped his cup to mine and walked out of the office with the rest of the coffees. I'm sure they weren't all like that.

Zak was acting pretty high strung this morning. 5 minutes Later we were all sitting in the meeting room around a round table as zak paced around waiting for Ian to arrive.

I drank my coffee in a sly fashion but I was feeling pretty relaxed by now. I couldn't understand why everyone seemed so tense this morning.

Once the meeting started we all looked to zak who was standing in front of us.

"Alright guys." He started but then he paused again looking down at the ground. I'd never seen zak so anxious.

He looked really flustered as he said in a serious tone..

"We're going back to mackeys"
