"Hey, Hollie?" Carol asked, putting her hand on my shoulder as everyone began to file into their rooms. "Yes?" I asked, turning to her. "I can keep Mable tonight if you'd like to have some alone time. Carl and Sophia are having a sleepover." She said. "Are you sure?" I asked, my cheeks growing hot. "If I could handle Sophia at that age, I can handle anything. It'll be good for me to have distractions. Here..." She said, taking her diaper bag off my shoulder. "You two relax, enjoy yourselves." She said, smiling at Shane and me before taking Mable. "You're gonna have so much fun, sweetheart," Carol said, tickling Mable as she giggled. I kissed Mable's cheek and told her I'd see her in the morning before thanking Carol. They set off towards the rec room to see what they could find.

Shane had found a room at the end of the hall, propping the door open with one of his bags before returning to me. "I can't believe this is real," I said, stepping into our room. It felt like a fancy hotel, minus the windows. Everything was white and sterile looking, but also looked like it had been lived in. There were a few scuffs on the walls and a small stain on the carpet. There was a door immediately to the right that led into a bathroom with a large stone shower. A queen-sized bed sat in the middle of the room next to a pair of nightstands. A few pictures and personal belongings of the person who had lived here before were scattered throughout the room. There was a dresser just in front of the bed with a flat screen TV that we weren't allowed to plug in. I heard the door latch behind me and turned to see Shane locking the deadbolt. "Are you kidding me?" He asked, picking up the bottle of wine I'd placed on the bathroom counter. "Oops," I said, smiling. "Was this all you?" He asked coyly, sloshing around the half empty bottle before taking a swing. "Nooo..." I said drunkenly, crossing and taking the bottle from him. I took another drink before sitting the bottle back on the counter, then turned and wrapped my arms around him. "Hi." He said, holding me tight. "Howdy." I said, standing on my tiptoes and kissing him, tasting wine on his lips. "Come on." He said, pulling me into the bathroom and turning on the shower.

I stumbled in behind him as the room began to fill with steam. He turned around and faced me, our eyes only meeting for a moment before he kissed me. He slipped his shirt off with one hand, then reached for mine. I didn't hesitate, raising my arms and letting him pull it over my head. He kissed me again, more passionately this time while I traced my fingers down his chest. I reached down and slid my thumb into his waistband, pulling him into me. I slid my thumb over his skin and undid the button on his jeans as he reached for my bra clasp. "Good God, you're so beautiful," He said as the last of our clothes fell to the floor. I smiled at him, taking his hand and stepping into the shower. I threw my head back, letting the hot water run through my hair and sighing happily. Shane reached behind me, pumping a bit of soap from the container on the wall and beginning to rub it on his head. I took multiple pumps from the container labeled 'shampoo' and began to rub it into my hair. For now, it didn't matter what I'd fantasized about earlier at dinner, I was only focused on how great it felt to finally be clean. Shane had time to wash his entire body before I had rinsed my hair. He took a pump of soap and lathered it in his hands before beginning to gently start at my shoulders, rubbing in circles down my body. I closed my eyes, taking in the feeling of his soft, but strong touch. He closed the space in between us, wrapping his arms around me and sliding his hands down my back. "What are you waiting for?" I asked against his lips. He pulled away and his eyes widened, starring at me for a moment before spinning me around and pushing me forward against the shower wall. ...

I woke up with his arms around me. I tried my best to move quietly and not wake him, sitting up and looking for a window before realizing we were underground. I turned to the analog alarm clock on the nightstand and remembered it was unplugged. From the silence, I assumed it was still night. Time didn't matter down here, nothing from the real world did. For now, we were safe. I laid back down and put my head on Shane's shoulder, feeling him stir. "Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you," I said as he turned and looked at me with sleepy eyes. He smiled at me before taking my head in his hands, kissing me again before disappearing under the covers. ...
