Taylor Pov
Boredom wasn't the word to describe what I was feeling. I had nothing to do but that wasn't It, maybe anger or loneliness. That sounds right. I feel lonely because my mate is downstairs while I'm locked in here but angry because my mate's an asshole. Fear is a definite emotion. My father used to lock me in a room if I got in the way or because he wanted power over somebody.
"What was I suppose to do, Maxen? She ran away from me and it pissed me off." I can hear Colton from downstairs, my head still leant back on the door. I want to get out. 'I'm scared. We don't like locked rooms.'
"Oh I don't know, talk to her! Not lock her in a room and pretend she's not there." Maxen yelled and I shook my head slightly. I stood up and banged loudly on the door.
"Alpha, Maxen-"
"Hey Baby." Maxen immediately calms down as he replies to the girl who has just entered the house. "Colton! Let me out!" I screamed and kicked the door again. 'Out. Out. Out'
"Who is that?" The girl spoke again and so I kept quiet to hear what was coming next. "Colton found his mate, she bolted because he was being a dickhead and now he's locked her in the spare room." How accurate was that explanation? 'Mate isn't like that.'
"You don't know that and neither do I." I whisper to my wolf. The click of the door snapped me out of my mind and I focused on the door when it opened. "Let me guess, now you're going to threaten me to shut up?"
"I'm Isla." The door creaks open and a young girl stepped in. She looked a little older than me and has long ginger hair, curling loosely at the bottom of her back. Small freckles dotted her nose and cheeks, she was dressed in shorts and a loose vest top. "So you're Colton's mate." She comes in and closes the door, I smile at her and she smiles back.
"Yeah, Taylor." I replied sitting on the bed. "I'm Maxen's mate, I just wanted to make sure you're okay because I know how Colton can be." Isla joins me on the bed and observes me silently.
"You ran away from him? That takes some balls." She laughs a little and I do too - maybe mine was a laugh of disbelief the fact I can live to tell the tale. "I guess I did, but that won't be happening again-"
"No, it won't." Colton appears in the doorway and any sign of a smile that I had moments ago is now gone without a trace. Isla looks between us before rising to her feet. "If you need anything while staying here I'll be happy to help. Trying to get the boys advice on clothes is an earache." Isla exits the room bowing to the Alpha as she walks past. As for me, I remain on the bed refusing to make eyecontact with him.
"So, now I get the silent treatment?" He closes the door behind him and attempts to come closer but clearly sees me shift away from him. "I've spent all day in here, you should be glad of the silent treatment instead of what I want to yell at you." I clench my jaw and sit crisscrossed on the bed away from him.
"Maxen said I was a bit too harsh earlier and that I should talk to you instead of locking you up." Colton rubs the back of his neck awkwardly and I scoff followed with a half smile. "You don't apologise a lot, do you?"
"I don't hear you apologising for running away." He scowls before sitting on the floor, his legs spread in front of him and his back against the door. "Fine, I'm sorry for running away."
"I know you are." He smirks causing me to roll my eyes. 'Mate looks sexy when he smirks.' Heat rises to my cheeks and I hide my face with a pillow. "You gotta a litt-"
"Shouldn't you be apologising?" I cut him off, holding the pillow tightly against my body and trying not to imagine the way he looks right now. It's harder than it sounds. "I'm sorry for locking you in here even though you deserved it because you deliberately annoyed me."

WerewolfBang! I sat bolt upright. Did I imagine that? That noise? What was it? I clambered out of bed and almost fell down the stairs with the panic that had set in. My front door was wide open but nobody was there, the wood was just swinging in the doorway...
