So yet again I wake up still at the compound. This is becoming quite a habit, working so late I just nod off wherever I am. It's a running joke that most of my wardrobe is stashed in a bag here to change if needed. This was very different from normal however as I'm not used to having one of the bosses snoring his pretty little ass off beside me. Everything's totally legit, fully clothed me on one chair him on another, but wierd nonetheless. I take the moment to just watch him uninterrupted and for once he seems at rest,peaceful. His long dark eyelashes flutter slightly and that goofy grin jolts me back to life. "You know its rude to stare little bit, I can give you a signed pic if you like." I throw the cushion at him and get up to find some fresh clothes.
"Good morning to you to shannon. For the record I'm holding you entirely to blame if I'm off track this morning. I can't even get a goddamn shower or clean my teeth. Oooh stay and watch a movie jez, have some food jez, nowhere did it say fall asleep and not go home jez" I wine at him as he throws the cushion straight back smacking me on the ass. "Ow!!" I say and try and soothe the area. "I can get that for you if you like jez" he jokes, although he blushes at the same time. Not like him but maybe just the heat in the place. " Thanks boss but I got it. I need to go freshen up and change clothes before little brother puts 2 and 2 together and makes 5. You should go too." He pouts and crosses his arms in a huff. "What is it with you damn letos and pouting." He takes my advice however and disappears to get freshened up and ready for work .
By the time Jared walks through I'm finishing my second tea and have got a lot of the overseas arrangements finalised.
"Jessica I am impressed. Ur bright and early. So early one might think you never went home.....again. you go on at me missy working too hard and not eating and resting properly. You don't realise you are just the same. " I just give him a smile and carry on working. I reassure him I am fine and just keen to get on. " do you want some breakfast or are you still full from all that food shannon brought you." He asks with a deadpan face. I hope I didn't visually gulp but it sure felt like it. So what they have both brought me food before. " I'm good thanks was late when we ate so I will grab some fruit later. No big deal". He shakes his head and goes to say something but decides against it, wierd. Not like him to be lost for words. He seems a bit on edge, I just hope to god they don't start fighting again. The morning passes pretty uneventfully , meetings, sorting the overseas merchandise etc and I decide to go get five mins peace by the pool. It's busy over at the offices with everyone sorting their bits for the tour and as far as I know noones at the compound for the afternoon. I take full advantage and strip down to my cut out muscle t and shorts to enjoy the sunshine through my break. I've probably zoned out for maybe half an hour until I hear shouting again. Goddamn it what is going on with these brothers. They are inside, sounds like the kitchen . I can hear muffled bits but they are definitely arguing again. Jareds really laying into shannon about some poor girl.
(Muffled from inside kitchen)......"It's Jessica shannon ffs. She's my number one employee, things wouldn't get done around here without her and you are a distraction she does not need. Ive warned you for months now yet I still walk in to find you fast asleep beside her at 3am. C'mon man"
" nothing happened man....we have both hung out with her here before, she's stayed over a million times what's the deal jay"
" the deal is that you are pining over her like a lost puppy and it can not happen bro". Shannon loses it at this point and storms out the kitchen. He comes round to the pool in such a temper he doesn't notice me on the beds at his back. He's raging with Jared and the heats got the better off him so he strips off his top, leaves his wallet and phone and dives in to cool off. Like I said, I'm professional to the end but out of our lovely brothers it's always been shannon to get my pulse racing , although I will take that to the grave, however in my secluded spot I get to secretly enjoy watching the sun and water beat off those muscles. He swims a few lengths quickly with temper and goes to jump out. As he does he catches sight of me on the bed hidden from immediate view. It shocks him a bit and he grazes his knee jumping out, squealing as he does it. "Shit shan are you ok" I jump out and try putting a towel over it as it's bleeding. He sits down on the lounger opposite me and I try and put pressure on the wound. He can't look at me in the eye and I can't look at him. What do i do with this new information. He doesnt know i heard them. Now at least i understand why they have been fighting. I cant jeopardise my job and employee relationships are a nono. I play dumb for the meantime and just get him to sit on the lounger till I run and get the first aid kit. I bring it back and try my best to mop up the blood in order to see the cut better. In my frustration I may have pressed a bit harder than I meant to and this help brings me back to the moment. "Jesus jez what did I ever do to u. Thank God u r a P.A and not a nurse". I apologise and take my time to make sure it's ok. It's pretty superficial and he knows it but he's milking it big time. " I ignore the comment and stick a band aid on it. " What ur not gonna kiss it better" he jokes. I finally have the guts to look him in the eye and I can't tell if he's being serious or shitting with me. What I can tell though is he's been getting a serious eyeful as I forgot I'm still in my shorts and cut out tee. Dammit. I try and cover up but it's no use. Pull it one way and it just exposes the other side. I start to blush and try to talk and just mutter and stammer. I grab the dirty dressings and the first aid box and basically sprint into the house. I pass Jared who's on the phone and he just stares at me wondering what the hells going on. Shortly after a limping shannon passes him and he just about falls off his chair trying to see where he went and what was up with him. This is gonna be an interesting tour......
