TW: Mention of self-harm.

As 'angsty' as it may seem, every single one of the sides needed a bandage from time to time.

Patton, who was the one who was influenced the easiest had picked up a rather dangerous behaviour from a story Thomas had once read.

In the story, the name long forgotten by the others and to me not worth mentioning, the antagonist in the story mentioned a coping with issues through inflicting physical harm on your body.

The form of self-harm (also known as self-injury or self-mutilation) talked about in the story was the most common one: cutting. This meant dragging a sharp object ( the most commonly used tool is a razorblade) across your skin to so create cuts or wounds.

Patton, who at the time was still hiding any sort of negative emotions from all of us, looked at the monitor we have stationed in the common room to watch Thomas' every move with great interest.

It was only two weeks later that he was found lying in his room crying, un-deep but still incredibly threatening cuts from both of his wrists to his cubital fossae or the top of his forearm.

Since then he has learned healthier ways of dealing with emotions but there had been and maybe in the future will be more times he has relapsed into this self-destructive behaviour, whatever we may try to do to help him.

This was the first time we learned to check on him when the cookie jar was untouched.

And that was the time Roman learned to always have bandages on him at all times.

Roman himself, even tho one of the things he represents is our host's confidence, sometimes has a rather abstract self-image.

There have been and maybe always will be moments in which he will mentally break. It can be caused by failed performances or unachieved goals, but it can also be caused by smaller things like not being able to hit a certain note, standing on the scale which we have now grown out for good or a simple comment or look people have given our host numerous of times.

The royal will overthink as this is a natural thing to do for Thomas, come to a conclusion however wrong it may be, and absolutely crush himself.

The day our host had gotten shouts from across the street because of holding hands with his (now ex-) boyfriend, said boyfriend later on getting in a fight with him and screaming that he can't do anything right and because of said argument forgetting the lines Roman had practiced with Thomas for weeks in an audition, was the first day we had to clean up shattered mirror pieces, some smudged with the blood that was seeping through the bandages on Roman's fists.

Virgil, being the embodiment of mainly fear, worry and hurt, was the one who had to suffer through every little pain we or our host got.

If Thomas had a breakdown due to stress, Joan hugging him tight to their chest, Virgil would have a full-on panic attack.

The negative emotions our host experienced would crash down on the darker persona twice as hard.

That might be why he is the one who is the most sensitive to the other traits negative emotions.

Virgil also is the reason why Roman would always carry double the amount of bandages for if one of us got hurt.

Because, being the embodiment of hurt, the trait would get every single wound, every scratch, that one of us or Thomas had gotten.

So once Thomas scrapped his knee, Virgil would feel a sting on that exact spot.

When he finally would look he would see a cicatrice on that spot.
