"Do we really have to babysit the TARDIS while they talk about 'adult stuff'?" Echo says, sounding annoyed.

The TARDIS hums in response, seeming slightly offended.

"Hey Sexy, wanna go on a trip?" I ask, partially leaning against the console.

"Did you just call the TARDIS 'Sexy'?"

"Yep, I hear the Doctor call her that all the time. Sounds better than an acronym," I reply with a shrug.

"Whatever..." she says under her breath.

"Alright now, TARDIS interface."

"Wait--what's an interface and how do you know about it?" I stare at him.

How do I know that? "I...don't know. I just kind of do, I guess."

A hologram of a woman who looks to be about in her late twenties with blond hair pops up. "Yes?"

"Where do you suggest we go?" I ask excitedly.

Echo gives me a are-you-serious-we're-actually-gonna-hijack-the-TARDIS look. Well, I'm guessing that's the look she's giving me; that message has never really needed to be conveyed to before.

"New Earth is always a good place to go. Well, the fifteenth New Earth, to be exact," the holographic woman replies.

"Alrighty. Does New Earth have any beaches?" I ask, seeing that a beach is a fairly romantic place.

"Yes."

"Excellent. Echo, care to help me fly this thing?" I ask with a smirk.

"Why not," she says with a shrug.

"Lets get this thing going! Alright: Sexy number one and Sexy number two, check."

Running about, I seem to know exactly what to do without thinking much about it. It just feels so natural.

"Wait," Echo says between flicks and twists. "Which Sexy am I?"

I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing than walking along the beach, sand on my feet, breeze in my face, my girl in my hand. It does feel great to call Echo mine.

"So. NE15," Echo says, looking up at the sky.

"It's almost as beautiful as you," I reply, looking over at her..

She nudges my shoulder. "Stop being cute. It makes me look bad." Her stomach loudly growls.

"You need to eat," I tell her.

"I'm fine," she replies. She probably just doesn't want to seem annoying.

I shake my head. "Nope. Wait here. I gotta grab something from the TARDIS."

Without giving her a chance to respond, I dart inside the police box, grabbing a picnic basket and a stereotypical checkerboard tablecloth/blanket from beneath the console and stepping back outside.

"You didn't have to do this," Echo mutters as she sits next to me.

I pull out a sandwich, take a bite, and smile at her. "I didn't have to, but I still did it for the wonderful Miss Echo."

"Again with the being-cute thing!" she exclaims.

Reaching back into the basket, I hand her a ham and cheese sandwich wrapped in clingy plastic.

We eat in silence for a few minutes, watching the beach around us.

"So get this--" Before Echo can finish, the ground shakes violently and a huge booming noise fills the air. We both turn around, facing a city in the distance. Something exploded towards the middle of the town.

"What the bloody hell was that?" I ask, eyes wide.

"No idea," Echo replies. "We should probably go check on it, though. You think the TARDIS can fly us there?"

"Of course."

"Good, but we better go now." Echo grabs the picnic basket and my hand and we both hurry across the sand.
