"I know where you are."

"What? Who are you?"

"Prepare yourself, Laughing Jack."

"For what?"

"I'm going to kill you."

"What?"

""Laughing Jack! Are you deaf? I've been calling you for so many times now!"

He swirled around to see Sharon standing in the doorway, tapping her foot. What just happened? Where did that voice come from? Did he block out again?

He shook his head to clear his mind and stood up straight. He had no idea what just happened. Someone plotted to kill him? No, nonsense, that was impossible.

There were lots of parents who wanted to  kill him for murdering their child but they have turned so insane, they would never find him. Plus, he wasn't aware of any real technique that could possibly kill him. No, he had to focus. Everything was okay.

"What's wrong?" Sharon asked. "You look confused."

"I am fine. There's nothing to worry about."

He faked a reassuring smile. He didn't know why, but he suddenly wanted some space. He wanted to be alone for some time. A break to think about everything.

That was strange. He never wanted to be alone. He had been left alone for so many years and never wanted to feel lonely again. He couldn't bear the thought of spending his time by himself.

But right now it was a different story. He just wanted to stay away from this annoying kid. She needed to die as soon as he was in the mood to kill again.

 "Laughing Jack, I am bored."

"So am I."

"Let's play hide and seek!"

"Very well. I hide and and you try to find me."

He could use that opportunity to get away from her for a short time. It was mean, but hey, he was a mean clown after all.

"No, I hide first."

"Fine."

Finding her wouldn't be too hard and then he could take a break from her. He already knew where he could hide so she won't find him.

"Okay, start counting to ten."

He closed his eyes and counted. By the time he finished, Sharon had already hid herself somewhere. He was pretty sure she chose the room she considered as the safest, which would be her parents' room.

As a serial killer, though his style was different, he knew the usual hiding places of victims who knew a killer in their house.  They usually stayed in the cabinets, under their beds, or behind open doors. It was basic killer knowledge.

He went to her parents' room and lingered for a short moment. He knelt down to the ground to find her lying under the bed.

"Found you."

"That was too fast! Let me hide again!"

"No, you lost this round so you have to find me this time."

"But you knew where I was!"

"Count to ten, dear."

"Can't you just find me all the time?"

"That is not how you play hide and seek." Laughing Jack told her. Stupid kid.

"Fine. But after I found you, I'll be the one to hide all the time."
