Laughing Jack decided to let (n) sleep longer so she would have more energy later when she would go to school. It was already morning and he heard her parents leave the house like they did in the few previous days.
Laughing Jack looked down at the sleeping (n). She looked so peaceful and contented, he just wanted to destroy her alarm clock so it wouldn't disrupt her from her pleasant dream.
He brushed a few (h/c) hair strands from her face, gently stroking her hair. He had to admit, he had grown very fond of this child. He somehow wished they would have fun like this forever. But he knew that was impossible. One day she would grow up and perhaps completely forget about him. That's why he had to make sure their time together was going to be as fun as possible before he would finally kill her off.
Laughing Jack wanted to give her a little something that would cheer her up and keep him on her mind when she would be in school. He created a black dress with white ruffles and matching knee socks. Yes, this would look brilliant on her.
(n) woke up and as soon as she saw Laughing Jack, her lips curved into a gentle smile. Of course she remembered where he took her last night.
"Good morning, (n)" Laughing Jack greeted her.
"Good morning too, Laughing Jack" She greeted him back.
Laughing Jack was happy seeing her like this: cheerful and enthusiastic. Fitted her a lot better than her usual gloomy and grumpy face.
"I have something for you." He revealed the black and white dress he made for her.
"It looks really nice! I'm going to try it on!" She exclaimed, taking the dress and running off to the bathroom to try it on.
She came out moment later, wearing the black dress with white ruffles and the matching white knee socks that had a black ribbon on the seam line. Her (h/c) was tied with white ribbons into pig tails and she wore black school shoes.
She looked unbelievably adorable and Laughing jack just wanted to give her a hug.
"How do I look?" She asked, making a turn to display her whole self.
"Absolutely lovely, my dear."
She gave him a toothy grin and stomped off to the kitchen to have her breakfast. Laughing Jack and her chatted just as usual before she would be leaving to school.
Just like everyday, Laughing Jack would wait for her to return so they could play and he already got used to it so he knew how to kill time. This time, however, he wished to see her again a lot sooner so he decided to sneak out of the house.
It was noon time, and (n) was always dismiss around this time so he decided to look for her and "accompany" her.
He spotted her, a few blocks away from her home, walking all by herself. Aw, how adorable was that. However, a group of boys who were around her age suddenly appeared from a corner, intercepting her. Who were they and what did they want from her?
"Hey, (n)! What are you wearing today? It looks UGLY!"
How dare they call her ugly. Silly young boys. When they would grow up, they would regret calling a fine little lady like (n) ugly. And she was anything but ugly! She was looking breathtakingly cute!
"I am not, so please get out of my way." She simply snapped.
The tallest boy of the boys walked up to her and pushed her.
"Who do you think you're talking to?"
That was it. Laughing Jack hated these boys so he took a small rock and aimed at the boy that had just pushed her. The rock hit his head and he simply collapsed to the ground.
"Who threw that?" The other boys asked.
Silly kids. Of course, they could not see him. He threw another rock at a boy whose head was also hit and fell unconscious to the ground.
"Someone is throwing rocks at us!"
You don't say. Laughing Jack chuckled and threw more rocks at the until (n) could finally continue walking home while they were distracted. After only two boys remained, Laughing Jack stopped and watched them run away. Stupid kids.
He followed (n) to her house, making sure he was not visible to the nanny who had prepared lunch for her.
"Oh? You look very pretty today, (n)." She noted.
"Thank you."
"Did your mom buy it for you?"
"No, I bought this myself."
"You can buy a dress yourself?" The nanny seemed very surprised.
"Of course I can! It's very easy.' She had that haughty smile again. Laughing Jack giggled.
"Well, if you say so..." The nanny did not seem to want to argue with her any further. (n) stuffed her food in her mouth. Despite getting bullied today, she did not seem to have a care in the world and still seemed as cheerful as she had been this morning.
She returned to her room where Laughing Jack was as usual waiting for her.
"Welcome back, (n)"
"Oh hello, Laughing Jack." She placed her bag aside. "I assume you were the one who threw rocks at the bullies earlier."
"Indeed." Laughing Jack made no effort in denying it.
"You should have been more careful; you could have killed them!"
"Don't you wish to see them dead, (n)?"
A cold and cruel smile curved on her lips, a smile that Laughing Jack found undeniably awesome. She really was a little sociopath. Maybe even a psychopath.
"Maybe, but that doesn't mean you have to kill them. Either way, I have an assignment to practice reading a poem. Would you like to listen to me?"
"My pleasure, (n)"
"Okay, this is my favourite poem. It is entitles 'There was a Crooked Man'."
She sat on her bed to read the poem as Laughing Jack squatted in front of her to listen to her poem.
"There was a crooked man and he walked a crooked smile
He found crooked a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile
He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse
And they all lived together in a little crooked house.
He met a crooked woman and he found a crooked preach
They had a crooked marriage on a crooked little beach
They had some crooked children and they lived a crooked life
The crooked man, the cat, the mouse, the children and the wife.
They were happy for a number of crookedly years
Lived a life of crooked happiness, no worries and no fears
Until one day the crooked wife upset the crooked man
He yelled a crooked yell and then he hit her and then he ran
The crooked man came again at the stroke of twelve
That was when their crooked life became a living hell
There was a crooked man and he walked a crooked mile
And when he killed his wife and kids he smiled a crooked smile."
Laughing Jack clapped as she finished reading. Yes, he supposed a dark poem like this really fitted her well.
What a cute little psychopath.
