Telling the public

"wait." Bruce said. Tony turned.

"hmm?" Tony ask.

"your barefoot. you never go barefoot." Bruce said.  

"I lost my shoe's in the original explosion." Tony replied. "I've literally been barefoot for like six weeks how have you not noticed, well other then the boots Nat and I got, but I can't wear those." Tony replied. "I'll be fine." Tony added.

"okay well you've got 45 minutes before that thing stops working. then we have to do it again." Bruce said.

"go. I'll be down in a few." Tony assured him. Bruce nodded slightly and headed downstairs.

"hey Bruce, where's Tony?" Pepper ask.

"he'll be down in a minute." Bruce replied.

"Sir has requested you all meet him outside." Jarvis said. Bruce looked confused.

"uh yeah. come on guys. we can talk outside." Bruce shrugged. the other Avengers, and Pepper, shrugged and headed outside. they'd only been outside a few minutes when the entire city seemed to rock. the upper floors of the tower exploded. "TONY!" Bruce shouted, running for the doors. the others followed quickly as green smoke filled the air.

"Jarvis open the doors!" Steve shouted, banging on the doors.

"chemical contamination detected." Jarvis replied. "emergency medical aid is required." Jarvis added. in a flash there were news crews and a couple ambulance. there were fire trucks and emergency personal everywhere. as they carried the unconscious Tony out on a gurney, news cameras on him, before their very eye's, the cover dropped and they stared in shock.

"did he just become a she?" one of the camera men ask.

"back up!" the paramedics shouted, loading Tony into the ambulance.

*hospital*

Tony ended up okay. bandages around her head, some bruises, a few cuts, a temporary neck brace, and her leg was broken.

"Tony what the hell was that, thats not how the plan was supposed to go." Bruce said.

"I didn't. it was the device. I stepped into the elevator and boom." Tony muttered.

"then why did you want us to go outside?" Steve ask.

"because, I wanted to show the public that I was here. so I didn't just appear in an explosion." Tony replied. "I had a plan." Tony added quietly.

"the device was stable." Bruce replied.

"well I didn't do it." Tony muttered.

"then what were you doing? why did it take so long for you to come down?" Bruce ask.

"I was looking for another pair of shoe's. I used to keep some in the lab. I didn't find them." Tony replied. Natasha quickly snuck into the room.

"where were you?" Clint ask.

"I remembered someone no one else did." Natasha replied.

"Felix." Tony muttered immediately.

"Felix? is he okay?" Bruce ask quickly.

"he's fine. he was hanging out in the living room." Natasha replied, setting her bag down. Felix poked his head out with a soft mew. he jumped from the bag and over to Tony, curling up on her chest.

"you know, thats supposed to be my cat." Bruce said, petting Felix.

"can't help he likes me better." Tony replied. she passed Felix off to Bruce and sat up, taking the neck brace off.
