Chapter Nine. Unity Day.

"My friends, this is an historic Unity Day. Every year, we mark the moment our ancestors of the twelve stations joined to form the Ark.-" I make a soft sigh walking away from the small tv that had Jaha on it. I had talked to him enough already, he had me give him a full report from the moment we departed from the Ark. I was no longer interested in the things he had to say. I didn't have hard feelings against Jaha, at least not now. I did before but he was the one who also stopped the rather harsh abuse I was receiving once he became chancellor. 

"You don't want to listen to his wonderful speech" I smiled softly at the sarcastic remark of none other then the man in charge. I had my hands on my hips and glanced around. 

"Not that I don't like the speech, the man always has something to say but not the biggest fan of unity day" I mutter as I watch everyone still gathered watching Jaha talk. I didn't find the intriguingness of watching it if I was being honest. 

"I know you don't. I remember when we were fifteen you crashed one of the pageants they had for the party." I laughed softly along with his low chuckle.

"That's what they get for trying to put me into a pageant, I was far from some girl holding a flag to represent a lie" I laughed a little more then looked up at the main once I felt the graze of his jacket against my own. He was warm from the burning sun. 

"Im guessing your not going to drink either" Bellamy stated crossing his arms. 

"And you would be correct Mr. Blake" I said right before Jasper came out of his tent holding what looked like a large canteen.  

"Whoo! Yeah! Monty strikes again! Hey Hey! Call this batch unity juice! Whose thirsty!?" I laughed at how excited Jasper was to get drunk and everyone else start to gather around with make shift cups. I glanced back over at the tv as it started show a girl in the middle of flags talking about the story that I had not finished but then the tv went into a frenzy then black. I scrunched my face. That was weird, it surely wasn't our end, we had clear weather. But something else caught my eye. Octavia. I softly sighed to myself seeing her sneak around while everyone was distracted and Miller came up and started to talk to Bellamy and I quickly retreated from the man I was struggling to fit back with. The moment I reached the gate I strode up behind her as she looked around at the woods. 

"And where do you think your going?" I ask her grabbing the bottom of her jacket making her halt in place when she tried to take another step. She stumbled back but not enough to run into me. Her mouth gaped open and she had sounds like she wanted to say something but wasn't sure. I look back at the gate then at her. "Do you have your knife?" I asked her and she nodded patting her side. "Alright" I let her jacket go. "Make sure he gets you back at a decent time frame so Bellamy doesn't put two and two together" She smiled and giggled a little pulling me into a tight hug then kissing my cheek. 

"Your the best! I love you!" she said before letting me go and I gave her a slight push the other direction.

"Go before I change my mind" She smiled once again and I turned around with my eyes closed and sighed. I wasn't to sure how I felt being like a mother hen to her but I couldn't help it. 

The sun had descended pretty quickly and I had just got done doing a full security sweep around the camp so I made my way up a ladder to keep my eyes on the woods. I looked down at the multiple fires going and games that had been made with the little things we actually had. A lot and I mean A lot of drunk teens were running around and dancing to slight drum beats. I took a long drink of my cup of water before my eyes landed on Bellamy and Clarke having a small discussion. I looked away once I saw Bellamy's eyes fall on me. I stuck out pretty well being the only one on actual guard duty. I smiled seeing Jasper get a little loud getting each kid around him a little more excited.
