I sighed looking around the camp, everyone was slow moving today. Bellamy, Clarke and a few others had left to go see the dropship that had crashed last night. Even though Clarke and myself had our ups and downs I felt.. well sorry for her. I couldn't say I knew what it felt like to lose a parent truly. My parents weren't around long enough for me to know who they even were. The closest to a mother I ever had was Ms. Blake and even then I knew I wasn't part of that family no matter how much I wished it.

I spotted Octavia as she made her way over to me sitting down on the deck overlooking our camp.

"So you and Bellamy-" she started off before looking over at me as I gave her a look that I was not ready to discuss anything involving Bellamy and myself in any romantic setting. "Okay not the right topic for this moment" I sighed softly and got to my feet looking into the forest. The darkness was descending quickly.

"Its not that I don't want to talk about it" Octavia leaned against the wall next to me lifting an eyebrow at me. "Okay it is but I don't know what's going on right now. He still blames me... you know?" I say to her and she nods and looks back out into the woods and we both sigh at the same time then start to laugh, she gives me soft bump with her shoulder, she had to bend her knees a little to bump my own though. I then notice something and I smile to myself and I put my finger out and point. Octavia's eyes follow my finger as her bright blue eyes land on a white lily.

"Jasper, tell us again, how'd you stay so calm?" I rolled my eyes hearing the girls and few guys surrounding jasper and in awe over his apparent "battle" with the grounders that he apparently did all on his own. As I recall I took one down hand on hand and not behind a gun. But I wasn't one to gloat so I didn't really care but it made my standards of Jasper lower. "I would've been terrified"

"Fear is the only problem if you let it stop you, right?" I snorted at the comment.

"That's not even his line. Finn said that" Octavia said looking over to Monty then to me. I shrugged and sat on a log.

"He doesn't have anything else better to say" I mention trying not to get spiteful about his slight lying of doing really anything.

"I saw the grounders in the trees" I heard him say and I scrunched my face.

"Uhh pretty sure I saw them" I said loud enough that Jasper could hear me but I wasn't aware of who else could.

"It was like nothing I ever felt" he said louder making sure to drown out any smart comments I had to say and I sighed looking at Monty who smiled down at me and patted my shoulder. "it was like pure animal instinct took over" I laughed out loud at that line. "One pull of the trigger two grounders dead."

"Pure animal instinct?" Octavia mocked leaning in towards Monty and I making sure to whisper it.

"As I recall it was Bellamy who shot the grounders" I muttered kicking a rock.

"Like pure pants-wetting panic" I smiled as Octavia looked at Jasper along with my own eyes.

"You don't know what your really made of until a moment like that when its kill or be killed. "And there's just nothing between you and the tip of the spear." I scrunched up my face at the nonsense he was spitting out and I started to make my way over before monty grabs ahold of my arm stopping me in my place.

"This has to stop" Octavia said in my defense.

"Come on. let us have this"

"Us?"

"Look at him. The boy is a folk hero, they even gave us a bigger tent."

"Bellamy gave you his old tent, you know everything he is saying is false Monty... and its all going to come crashing down, especially when their head" I pointed to Jasper. "Gets that big"
